We get deer, wild boar (luckily not too often but an ex neighbour of mine was badly attacked by one, a few months back, while on a walk at a lake nearby). What I find strange at the moment, we have the swallows but not Hoopoe, Golden Oriole or Nightingale. My friend on Tuscan/Umbrian border has got all except the Swallows.
it’s odd the way it rolls. In Almeria area, we had as of yesterday, swallows, hoopoe and a recent addition since lockdown, an ever expanding colony of the common Spanish Kestral.
In the hills, plenty of wild boar, but they keep themselves to themselves mostly.
Weirdly, we had a turtle swimming recently, around and in early March time a manta ray, not seen since lockdown.
Also, flamingoes seem to have moved down the coast from Alicante way, as there’s quite a big colony of them there too.
I’ve not been back in Dorset long, but all I’ve seen are bloody seagulls
Might pop over to Arne soon and see what’s happening in the bird world there. Birds are ace
