Living by a lake there are many different birds, ducks, geese, even bald eagles. Almost every house puts out a dock for boats. The birds love to poop on the docks, I have seen wires with flags, or old shiny CDs hung, a few have motion sensor water sprayers, not so bad on the dock, it dries and can be swept off. The grass is a nasty, greasy poop graveyard. I can't imagine peacock poop everywhere ,must smell as well.

Why doesnt master carpenter simply soak all the cut wood post ends in preservative instead of using tape (which will trap water) also when joining the pieces, looks pretty shitty wood and rather weak in scale needs beefing up or might bounce on walking on it unless he uses a tonne of noggins.

I’m skeptical of the lack of torsional support structure and the fact that the posts are just resting on the concrete pads, without being secured to them in any way. It would have been simple to add some brackets to the post bottoms, into the concrete pads. But I’m not a master carpenter.

There are some specialist tapes you can get now that are designed to prolong the life of a post (my hubs watches so much wood porn ‍) but I haven’t watched the vlog so don’t know if that’s what he’s done.

it’s odd the way it rolls. In Almeria area, we had as of yesterday, swallows, hoopoe and a recent addition since lockdown, an ever expanding colony of the common Spanish Kestral.
In the hills, plenty of wild boar, but they keep themselves to themselves mostly.
Weirdly, we had a turtle swimming recently, around and in early March time a manta ray, not seen since lockdown.
Also, flamingoes seem to have moved down the coast from Alicante way, as there’s quite a big colony of them there too.
I’ve not been back in Dorset long, but all I’ve seen are bloody seagulls
Might pop over to Arne soon and see what’s happening in the bird world there. Birds are ace

That decking will be a nightmare to take down, it's clearly a beat the Jones' monstrosity.
