You said in a previous reply that your big projects this year were the Grand Salon and the garden but what about your heating? The last we saw were water leaks all over the Chateau and you and Amaury working out the sizes of new radiators. You said then that this was the year of the heating.

We’re still collecting heating quotes, so we’re aiming for completion in time for winter 2023/24 🥶 But we Lalanders are a hardy bunch - and we have the added joy of knowing that this winter should be our last cold one! Also, as the new rooms are completed (Marquis’s salon and grand salon), the final heating pipes and radiators are being installed.

@The Chateau Diaries On Patreon, you asked us if we thought heating or the façade ought to come first for this year. I voted with the majority for the heating to be replaced. From this response, you're now changing the time frame to next year; it doesn't seem right to me for us patrons not to be notified. I'm also keen to see the accounts of 2020 and 2021 be published asap from the accountants please. Transparency is important to charity.

Sorry to derail. This is for you, @LadyRosalie. With my hubby’s permission, I want to share a few pics from our Protestant ceremony and wedding reception (venue, mostly) last Thursday. To quote my dad, “I’ve never seen so much flowers in one room!”

Her poverty addiction behavior is at its worst in depriving her employees of heat and food. I really don't get it, unless it is the justification for £6500 gazeboes which you only need because the fountain you insist upon installing in the walled garden is too small.
Coupled with a cost of living crisis across Europe, projected to continue well into next year increasing everyone's energy bills and relying on electrical heaters paid out of the YouTube ad revenue; money which could further the renovation of her own HMN. Her priorities do not support her claims that she is truly invested in renovating her home. She's a con woman and must be held to account. This latest revelation about the heating system delayed to 2023/24 should ignite us all once more to hold her to account. We know what she will do - ride out the autumnal months in the cold, bugger off for her three month winter holidays and return for spring. Meanwhile, poor Kim, Dan and the brainwashed volunteers will be shivering and teeth chattering (think of Dan's new crowns) whilst, Lady Deceit is on a sun lounger with Phyllis licking her feet. Her greed knows no bounds.

I think the Tartlet who suggested she's cooking the books of 2020 and 2021 is right. She doesn't have the money to do either the façade nor the heating, because she needs to repay her debt in order to legitimise her enterprises. I know I know I know, I'm contradicting Clara who claims that Stephanie believes she's done nothing wrong; so I ask, why the delay in publishing the accounts in full? She's hiding something, that's why, because Stephanie knows she has done something wrong and I firmly believe it's her previous financial misdemeanours with other people's money - her Patreon account. I genuinely hope she is correcting the mistakes, because she morally has a responsibility to do so, besides she'd have to do so if it went to court.

The cooking the books theory also is supported by the work halting on all the gîtes, the upstairs shower room, the natural swimming pool, the lake, the chapel, the china pantry, the pornographic splash back tiles (which I could do in one evening - hey photoshop wizard), the area cuisine, terrace restoration, the list continues.... I don't buy the excuse that there aren't the tradesmen in the area.
To dispel this all you need do is type into google the following:
La Chatre constructeur
La Chatre électricien
La Chatre plombier chauffagiste

La Chatre plâtrier
and you'll swiftly discover there are plenty of housing developments popping up around Châteauroux and La Chatre area, which tells us there is indeed a workforce in the area with the skills necessary for the renovation of HMN. Stephanie is lying to us on a continuous basis in order to cover up the negligence. I do genuinely think she is attempting to legitimise her Patreon business right now, but she's currently sitting on a cash flow problem because of it until all is remedied.

That Tartlett was me. I know a thing or two about this kind of bullshit. In my former life I dealt with many different types of construction projects and large service contracts. Millions of dollars. I did project management and contract administration. I also did procurement. We had to verify companies were robust enough to execute their contracts. That involves performance, paying subcontractors and suppliers, quality of deliverables. I found myself in many situations having to do forensic accounting to catch people trying to screw the people I represented. It usually starts as unmet obligations, then the lies start piling up, then you check on some things and you find money or cash flow problems, then you try to figure out how to get what was promised or extract a fair recompense.

I smell dirty money tricks all over her. She overspent for sure and is spending now to keep the wolves at bay, hoping she can BS her way through until she gets everything back in hand.

I’m not usually wrong. Also, as with most things in life, if something doesn’t add up, it’s because it doesn’t.

Dan and Dana, not the worst pairing.
Always bearing in mind @Clara Burnett's long-ago barometric reading, that Dan left for reasons which made her skin crawl.
They like to cook, and he is obviously the inspo behind her cooking video.
She's a mother, and hopefully will encourage him to be supportive of the boys and Annelise.
She has a job and some get-up-and-go. She took him to a French rap concert, which is pretty cool. Whether or not she's willing to put up with a working class partner, we shall see.
Last and defo not least, maybe she won't be shaking her felafels at the very polite, well-heeled, totally gay men at the charlataine's guest dinner parties any more.
(Maybe that's what Philip is sticking around for. Daddy Warbucks.)
Saying it's not the grossest pairing at Lalande isn't the biggest endorsement. Mais oui.

Well, well, well, so there we have it, Dan and Dana!
I wonder if she lured him away from the martial home and his kids or if the relationship started after he left?
His snide remarks about Annalise might elude to the fact she’s intending to throw them under the bus soon?
Dan’s no longer gardener, Kirsty (Annalise’s bezzie) is. Demoted!
He’s messing around alone doing side jobs like he’s been cast adrift. Other than when Fanny flirts for attention.
No wonder his content is crap, he’s side tracked by Dana’s legendary falafels. 🍒

I want to add, you all have been on fire lately. Real action against criminal behavior, thanks all who struck during the night when I was asleep. Vera and Harold Bloom would be so proud of you. Also Vigia Wolf.
Here, with thanks, is Virginia's enchanting love letter to Vita, her novel Orlando, in pdf for a wonderful read, and a serious lesson in how to write about gender fluidity, primogeniture, feminism, time passing and modernity. All Platinum Jubilee themes untouched upon or glancingly dealt with (lame poet laureate effort, Wisdom, close but no cigar).
Thank you all. Especially our stalwart investigators/documentarians @KiKiGee, @Lady Avonlea, @Princess and the Pea @Summerbaby et al. And the gold standard, common sense, humane but clear-eyed moral judgments and calls from @OhIDontKnow... @Clara Burnett and @Le Comte de Monte Cristo

Off topic…Today, June 6, is the 78th anniversary of the allied invasion at Normandy. My grandfather (who I was named after) was part of the D-Day invasion, Omaha Beach, 3rd Wave. Of the 12 men in his unit, he was one of only 3 men who survived that day. He received a bronze star for D-Day, and 3 more bronze stars after that. Prior to the invasion, he was stationed in Britain. After D-Day, he marched through France and eventually into Germany.

Before his death, my grandfather didn’t talk about his experience in Europe very much. He did say that the French people were so happy and really appreciated the American soldiers. He said one lady he met was so glad to see them that she butchered her only chicken and insisted on cooking it for him and his buddies to eat. It’s a miracle he survived the war, but it left a terrible impact on him. At the time, there was no name for his condition, but today we call it PTSD. He struggled with it for the rest of his life.

So, that’s why the story of Billy’s military desertion and SJ’s deception, smoke, and mirrors affects me. People like my grandfather…people from many countries…sacrificed so much so that people like Billy and SJ could live in freedom. In their fairytale chateaus.

Yes, that seems like an important point, although as she was already single, she'd be less to blame than him, in my opinion.

@Isabelle6541 just checking in after the last whirlwind thread: did your contact ever get back to you about the missing videos?
The videos aren’t missing. The person on YouTube was saying they’re missing from the playlist where SJ has all the CD vlogs listed in order. If you look at the list of all the videos they are there.

3 things
1. Tits Wellington
2. @Jules100 I loved the vlog and the Miller Lite riding the cart was hilarious!
3. A1 Sauce - never had it since I don't eat meat, but I've just read the ingredients - other than the HFCS and caramel color it sounds good! Does anyone think it would be good on a Beyond Burger?

We have a video conference scheduled Friday the 10th. I will keep you all posted.

Good to know. Someone is assigned to report on that and I will pass that along. We still save everything.

So many brave men took part that day. Have you visited the DDay beaches. I did back in 2018 and it was such a wonderful place to go. .

Rewatching that video shows that the situation is not normal. imo a woman (Annalise)who knows that another woman is sleeping with her recent live in lover and father of her children does not want to be in the same room as that woman let alone be friendly towards her and equally what woman (Dana) has the brass neck to attend and be overly friendly. Over the years I have known a lot of relationships that have failed but have never known those involved want to be friends even in pretence. It is all too emotional and hurtful.

All very nice but what about progress on 1.exterior render, 2.heating, 3.Lake, 4.Terrace and steps, 5. Chapel etc. In other words the bits that matter not the fluff. You must have enough cash to do these jobs thanks to your Patreon a/c. Or, am I missing something?

I don’t understand this comment. At face value it seems unnecessarily critical. Renovations and upgrades in old buildings are complex, expensive and take time. I, and I am sure most others, have no doubt that Stephanie Jarvis manages the patreon monies with integrity and honesty.
