Without wanting to sound like one of those people, there's a whole media conspiracy around tattle.

The editors of the main newspapers in the UK have flat out refused to do an article with tattles input. Unless it's a "so sorry influencers", which isn't going to happen because we can't be sorry for the disgusting things they've invented to smear the site. That proves why the site should exist.

Moderation is very strict here. Far more than reddit, instagram, youtube etc. Of course many will say tattle needs "better moderation" but in reality this vague phrase is open to a million different interpretations. It's impossible to please everyone with an inherently unpopular task.

All they are interested in is pumping out "tattle bad, posters trolls, poor influencers mental health". Very surface level and biased.

Of course tattle isn't beyond criticism (nothing is). It's a very interesting topic talking about how people here gossip about public figures that put their life online as a business.

But these media organisations all have relationships and connections with many influencers that they don't want to risk.

It's really showing up influencers for exactly who they are. Making lies about death threats and rape threats that have never been posted here is awful behaviour. Rather than admitting the real reason they don't like tattle.

Tattle is one thing giving accountability to influencers as the ASA doesn't have the resources to regulate and they know 99.8% of the time they'll get away with flouting the rules.

Yes it must be uncomfortable people discussing your (not so) private life but if it's affecting you that much get another job. No one in a free country has the right to be famous and only receive praise. That's the kind of privilege the Supreme Leader of North Korea has.

If you're a musician or an actor there's a talent there so when people critique your new movie or album it's not personal. With influencers there's no talent or skill there to back up the fame. We get why they take negative comments so personally. But with or without tattle it's inevitable. Their posts on instagram do not benefit or enrich society. Monetising your personal life or the life of your children will never come without huge negative downsides.

Blaming tattle for everything (with no evidence) isn't going to help anyone, let alone themselves. But everyone likes a common enemy.

First, thanks Moderator for making this thread.
And I'm so sick of the term "influencer". They're just internet salespeople who came up with a new word to make themselves sound more important. It's the same as any other salesperson being called Associate, Attendant or whatever other term they want.

The following was provided to the Daily Mail last month:

This statement is provided on the express condition that it is published in its entirety, without edits, truncations, or paraphrasing. If you are unable to commit to publishing the full text, please contact before any portion of this statement is used:

First and foremost, Tattle Life wishes to express its heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Princess Bliss Dickson.

The community on the site has long been concerned for her welfare, having seeing her publicly from a very young age.

The gross misuse of this tragedy by those with vested interest is appalling and we urge everyone look beyond the bias narrative.

Organisations such as the Samaritans advise against sensationalising a suicide or attributing it to a single cause, as this is rarely the case.

Tattle Life remains confident in its moderation processes and compliance. We welcome open conversation with any relevant authority.

It is essential for the Coroner’s office to be allowed the time and space to perform its duties thoroughly before any conclusions are drawn.

At this time, it would be inappropriate to comment further.

Today the Daily Mail have truncated this to the following, removed important parts and didn't contact tattle:

A Tattle Life spokesman said: 'First and foremost, Tattle Life wishes to express its heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Princess Bliss Dickson. The community on the site has long been concerned for her welfare, having seeing her publicly from a very young age.

'It is essential for the Coroner’s office to be allowed the time and space to perform its duties thoroughly before any conclusions are drawn. At this time, it would be inappropriate to comment further.'

IPSO won't take action on inaccurate reporting like todays purely speculative hit piece on tattle because to investigate would be a "significant intrusion into the privacy" of the family. Which is totally understandable. But this gives the Daily Mail carte blanche to print what they like on behalf of influencers with connections and vested interests.

It's abhorrent but that is the state of the media. The Daily Mail, influencers and Labour MPs are prejudicing an inquest.

If any tattler has a good MP with integrity it might be worthwhile raising with them.

Anyone can read the threads and see tattlers were the ones showing concern over a child that had been put, without her consent, in the public eye from the age of 4 https://tattle.life/threads/sophie-may-dickson-11.51694/

New thread to discuss tattle in the press.

Influencers are currently running wild with purely fabricated stories about what has been posted here and the media are repeating their claims without any fact checking or reaching out to tattle.

Regardless on your thoughts on gossiping about people who monitise their life on social media this is very worrying that so many big organisations are pumping out fake news.

Prime example here - https://tattle.life/threads/grace-victory-11-her-cup-is-full-of-complaints.48678/post-22953055

Please use this thread to discuss the articles and the many lies.
What's infuriating is they're happy to mine the likes of the Secret Celebrity Gossip thread for articles, but then are too lazy to do their due diligence when writing about Tattle.

They never give a well-rounded view of what it's actually like here. Or bother to fact-check influencers' lies.

Let’s face it, all they want to do is find out tattlers names so they can put us on blast for their idiot followers to harass. They want to be able to say “I know she’s really called Jane Doe and she works as an NHS administrator HOWDISCUSTANG!!!! These people are supposed to be the caring angels we clapped for in Covid and now she is UNMASKED as an online troll. Then Jane from Nottinghamshire is public enemy number 1, gets harassed online and IRL as do her family members. All for saying that Jack Monroe is a pathological liar with shit hair.

I'm sure most of us have seen this disgraceful content from Dr Jessica Taylor (I'd never heard of her before this tbh).
At one point in the video she says about here (after comparing Tattle users to sex offenders) 'they're stalkers, harassers and have sent threats to people AND MUCH WORSE' just leaving the 'and much worse' hanging. Now to use those words in the context of comparing us to sex offenders is fairly unambiguous. She knew what she was doing.
I think she is a psychologist - interestingly when it came to her worst lies she couldn't even look at the camera.

These 'influencers' have been far too unregulated for far too long. It should be illegal to use under 16's for content. Once minors reach 16 and can consent to being used, then fine. You have people posting pics of their kids in the bath, running round naked in their gardens, shuffling round in dirty nappies and one day these poor kids will be mortified that these images are forever etched in cyberspace. On the other side of the coin, it's a kiddy fiddlers paradise.

They post every fart and period, advertise products (majority are undeclared), get into spats with people, dox people etc. etc. The vast majority are thick as shit and are incapable of holding down a proper job and their whole life is online. As humans, we are all flawed, we all fuck up, say bad things and make mistakes, but most of us are not online when we do it. Honestly, these people are so stupid they can't see the irony of their existence. You cannot live this life and expect no-one to comment and for it not to attract negative comments. Of course, no-one should be threatened, stalked, harassed etc but a forum calling out these halfwits is absolutely necessary to hold them accountable. No court in the land is going to charge Carol from Guildford for pointing out that Jake Quickenden is desperate for attention and the whole focus on Tattle is fucking laughable. Look in the DM comments and you'll see far, far worse than is ever posted on here. Of course, some take it too far, but the site is well moderated. Go to Reddit if you REALLY want to see a cesspit.

Its the sheer bloody arrogance of them that's their problem. To them, Jane who works in the NHS or Tom who works in a cafe can only dream of a life of Hello Fresh, Skin&Me freebies and exclusive invites to the opening of an envelope. They cannot comprehend that "the little people" don't worship their lifestyles and it genuinely amazes them that some of us see through it. They think everyone is so in awe of their life there would be no room for criticism and anyone who does dare speak out is obviously doing out of jealousy. Not out of the fact we normal people can see through the grift and the bullshit

It’s quite funny that the characters known for trolling themselves are the most vocal.

Lauryn Goodman who has harassed Annie Kilner for years, Alice Evans, who has a full restraining order due to her incessant online and in person harassment of her ex and his wife. Even Stephanie Thirkill, who has her own tattle account and posts on her own thread to bitch about the woman who’s husband she had an affair with has piped up.

Mod, is it possible to track down these accounts we suspect to belong to influencers? We know lots of them are on here. Lauryn Goodman and Jack Monroe have both invaded their own threads. The Avolover account is almost certainly Stephanie Thirkill. I’d be quite happy to see a well placed story about how influencers use tattle themselves

The truth is just beginning to surface, and the fabricated lies spread by influencers, the media and PR companies will ultimately be exposed for what they are.

Lies may spread quickly, but the truth will prevail.

This is not a race - clarity will come at its own steady pace.

I refer to them as influenzas instead because they're toxic, useless, annoying and a pain to get rid of.

If they go after Tattle they should then go after YouTube commentators, subreddits, other gossip forums and blogs then. Far, far worse is said in those places - so they've had to make stuff up about Tattle specifically?

These people put themselves out there and then whine when they are criticized - these influencers often exploiting their own children for money, likes, clicks. You put yourself out there - an influencer, a celebrity - you are a public person and people can and should feel free to praise or criticize you as they see fit. Free speech.

It's almost like real celebs don't need to worry about opinions on the internet, because they have actual careers and talent.
However, the people who are very much bothered by Tattle are the ones whose whole income depends solely on being able to shill the public with smoke and mirrors, and who can't afford to be held to account, or for the truth to come out ... 🤔

Yel has never said or done anything to deserve this. Moderating a forum of this size is an incredibly tough gig. She has always been fair, calm and measured. I've never seen her be nasty or even remotely mean, and I've enjoyed her contributions on various threads, even if I haven't always agreed with her.

How do they not realise that they are behaving worse than any Tattler has? The lack of self-awareness is truly breathtaking.

The only malicious communicatons are coming from these arseholes.

I'm sure I speak for us all, Yel, when I say that we're all thinking of you and hope you're ok ❤

There has to be another reason why Princess Dickson killed herself.
She was taken into social care, posted on tiktok that her step dad SA her when she was 12, her mum posted that she was proud to be a MAP (minor attracted person) mum, was self harming, was very underweight and her mum reposted her stories with #skinnylegend (Sophie is lying that she kept her off social media), said that her mum punched her, was sat on dirty old mens laps at depraved Dubai parties, was vaping at aged 8 (mother shared videos of this), locked in hotel rooms while her mum worked and given a phone to spend nights unsupervised on tiktok. There is a lot to this and the worst tattle said was talking about her being too young to have her lips injected and that some of her clothes weren't appropriate (all due to the mother but these few comms don't look great after what happened but most were only worried).

We know there's no public visibility of what's happening in the background. But rest assured we're certainly not doing nothing. Being careful and diligent should not be mistaken for weakness.

Influencers can in seconds make the most outrageous false claims with no evidence, then it takes us many days of research through tens of thousands of messages to debunk these. Because unlike them we care about the truth.

More debunking like this to come:

We have always replied when being given the right of reply (which is in a minority of cases with the lack of fairness and journalistic integrity these days). But now we have more time to fully investigate claims and say with a high degree of certainty that they're fabricated.

Very difficult and time consuming proving something didn't happen, but do we try our best.
