OP hasn’t asked for advice on the validity of her relationship or whether she should have a baby with this guy, she’s asked about her periods?
His kids are 14 & 15. I appreciate the concern but there’s no need for one. He’s active in their life and their mother has a good relationship also, thank you but it’s really off topic and unneeded…you being fine isn’t the point. This doesn’t just effect you. There are children already involved who should be his primary concern - you’ve not answered my question regarding what his relationship with his kids is like, and if he actively supports them etc.
“knowing” him for years isn’t the same as being in a relationship with him or having a child with him. Meeting his children isn’t the same as being an active part of their lives and you yourself being one of their primary care givers which you should be if things are good with him & his kids - you should be playing an active role as step parent and this includes having a communicative relationship with their mother etc

Yeah - how long have you guys been together and how long have you been living together? What’s the situation with his children - is he an active part of their lives and does he support them financially and emotionally etc? Have you met his children? What’s your relationship like with them? How are things between him and his children’s mother? Does he actually want to bring another child into the world?I was just concerned it was very early days. Would you not want to enjoy your time together as a couple before you have a baby? You don’t know what people are truly like in the honeymoon phase.

Yeah that’s how it is at the moment! Then bright pink other times. I also think I may have had a chemical pregnancy so could be something to do with that, not 100% sure though.
I am in a relationship, we’ve just rented a house together so it’s not so much he’s convinced me as we’ve had a talk about me wanting children (he already has them) and he’s okay with me coming off and seeing what happens!
Could you be irritating your cervix with all the sex? I mean gwaaarn girlHiya
So I'll drive straight in.
I'm 28 and have been on the pill since I was 18. I was in a long term relationship and when that ended I came off the pill was I didn't really need to take it.
Since 2019 I have only ever taken it 'every now and then' because I was willy thinking if I took it for a month when I was 'seeing' someone it would prevent pregnancy.
I have recently gotten into a serious relationship and have both talked about me coming off the pill completely, which I have done.
I haven't been on now since June, my periods have changed massively and they've started getting really heavy and I seem to be getting a weeks break and I am constantly spotting.
We are also active on average three times a day (honeymoon period![]()
) and the periods have only started since all this happened
Is this the reason why?! Has anyone else experienced this?

I've met the children, the family and I've known most of them ages too. Haha, I see his own mum than I do my own (i also worked with her for abit)
Genuinely no red flags, we're both old enough to know what we're doing too. I appreciate the concern but I am fine![]()
Yeah, I think it’s normal for the length to vary sometimes! Mine are normally 2-3 days max but my last one was 6 days!Has anybody had a period that has lasted longer than usual and found everything to be ok. X
Yeah quite possibly!! I've started to feel slightly bruised so to sayCould you be irritating your cervix with all the sex? I mean gwaaarn girlbut that could definitely be the reason for the spotting as I get that if I have too much sex/it’s too rough. As for the heavy periods, I think the pill can lighten your periods so it might just be a contrast. Also if you’re only taking it sporadically it might be that your body is trying to adjust - June to now isn’t a vast amount of time and it can take a fair few months to settle down hormonally.
Also have you had a recent smear test? Spotting in between periods can be a sign of something amiss so definitely get checked if you haven’t!
Nope I haven't, so I can rule this one out! I have heard a few nightmare stories about it affecting them though! xHave you had the covid jab? This has really messed up my periods x
Yeah fair point.OP hasn’t asked for advice on the validity of her relationship or whether she should have a baby with this guy, she’s asked about her periods?![]()
I had a baby 6 months ago and last no longer than 4/5 days but it’s been 12 I’ve contacted a gp but trying not to worry !Yeah, I think it’s normal for the length to vary sometimes! Mine are normally 2-3 days max but my last one was 6 days!
yeah I’m up to date! Only had one a couple mo tag agoIt took months for my cycle to go back to normal when I came off the pill. I think the doctor told me it can take up to a year. I imagine if you’ve been on and off it too it might be a big shock for your body. That being said I’m not sure I’d risk it, are you up to date with your smears etc?

i bled for about 3 weeks never full on period just mostly spotting and mucous ranging from dark brown to bright red
i get about a week break from spotting and then it comes back
