Major first world problem, I know. Laugh all you want. 
I have had a talking stuffed toy for about eleven years. you press his belly and he talks. He stopped talking I’d say seven years ago. I only realised a few days ago that the batteries were replaceable
so got some new batteries and fitted them. But... he still doesn’t talk 
I did notice when replacing the batteries, that the old batteries, and the compartment (the contacts where the batteries sit) is slightly rusted so I’m guessing that’s why he still doesn’t talk? (I have to put him in the washing machine a lot, he gets sooooo grubby!). He would always stop talking for a little while after being in the washing machine but then would speak again and one day just stopped completely! So I’m guessing I accidentally killed him dead? Oops?
Is it fixable? I saw a lot of articles saying that if the batteries had leaked, this was fixable. But they haven’t leaked so I’m not sure those solutions would work. Someone else told me that if I really wanted to fix it I’d have to send him away and I really don’t want to do that because Ilove him too much and would miss him don’t mind that much, ahem. 
I don’t mind if he doesn’t talk, i am used to it, and it’s show accurate I guess I just thought it’d be nice if I could fix him from home <3
