Hello,

I know this seems a whingey post but I feel in an absolute rut and just can't fathom how to get out of it 😣

To name but a few things, I am sick of my hair style (got it cut into a long Bob in June and the hairdresser took it upon her wisdom to cut it into a graduated Bob - yes I know I should have said something at the time but was a bit scared too)
My nails are horrific, either bare and snapped, brittle and dry - they're usually short, neat and gel nails.
My skin is a mess, very few spots but is "bumpy" with pores, blackheads and very tiny spots on my nose.
Overall just feel sluggish and unhealthy.

I know these are such minor complaints and complete first world problems .. it all started by getting ready this morning and putting on a brand new t shirt (Tesco F&F) and it being too tight on the tummy but baggy on the shoulder area (I'm broad shoulder but small bust)

I feel so fat and frumpy in everything that I wear (apart from dresses - they're my go too and I do really suit them, I just like having joggers for comfy days but just don't know how to make them look smart/classy but comfy?)

I'm 27 btw so not "that" old although it's certainly feels it 😂

Honestly I can never find a decent fitting t shirt and with the weather changing I hate winter clothes because it's either baggy, I'll fitted or just generally uncomfortable.

Any advice for getting out of this rut?!

You honestly could have described me right now 😂. I’m currently writing this with sudocrem slapped on my multiple chins chin as my skin is breaking out, even more so now that I’m nearly 30 than my teenage years! My diet has been tit, I don’t think my body even knows what a vegetable is any more and I’m going through a stage where I’m showering in the dark and avoiding mirrors. I know what I need to do with eating healthy it’s just doing it. Not even face masks and bubble baths are cutting it for me at the moment.
I’ve actually just booked in for a spray tan, nail infills and a cut and colour for tomorrow and Friday so hoping that could help a little bit. Not that I even barely have the money to do so at the moment but I think sometimes we just need to say duck it. That’s a problem for future glamourelle 😂 I would say book in something that’s just for you and give yourself the pamper yourself deserve! Sending you hugs 💕

Drink more water, have a good skincare routine and exercise. Ohh and eat better. If you’re eating bad then you’ll feel and look worse whatever you try.
Go to the gym and book in some beauty treatments.

You’ve summed me up in a nutshell but I’m 31.

I’ve invested in myself recently, new products and a few nice pieces of clothing which fit better than supermarket stuff.

I’m desperate for a new hair do but don’t know what to do.

Why don’t you go somewhere else, explain your thoughts and they can advise.

Nails, have you though about gels? If done properly they will allow your nails to grow underneath and they hide a multitude of sins.

In regards to your skin, water, more water and keep on top of your skin care. It’s a bore but it’s a must. Also I like to steam my face every once in a while and extract my back heads, don’t do it the day before anything big as you go red.

I’m trying to eat better, snack less and exercise more. I’m trying not to punish myself but be kind and I’m starting therapy for confidence and food next month.

I’m slowly feeling better, I just need to keep going. I feel like a potato most of the time.

Thank you so much for replying!! I’m now sat with a clay face mask on hoping I can shift the mood and sort myself out!! 🤣 ooh beauty treatments sound lovely! I’m getting my eyebrows waxed this weekend and I’m going to do my nails tomorrow, hopefully that will give me a bit of a pick me up.. I think because of the weather changing and just generally feeling crappy it’s all just come to light that I feel really out of sorts. X

thank you so much for replying, it’s my one goal at least for the future to drink more water and eat better. 🥰

thankyou so much for replying!!
I’ve booked some beauty treatments and know exactly what I need to do but just can’t shake the rut feeling I’m in, hopefully I’ll feel more “put together” with a good old pamper! X

Any advice for getting out of this rut?!
- drink water. 3 litres a day. Buy 2 of the 1.5L bottles of still water, stick them in the fridge and drink them both over the course of the day. Refill and put back in the fridge for the next day.

- eat well. Lean meat/lots of veg. no crap/no booze etc

- book in to have a facial & manicure

- book in for a hair cut and get them to sort your hair or at least make it look better for you

- get out and get some fresh air and exercise every day. No excuses.

- please stop referring to yourself as “old” - you are 27! Still in your 20s!!!! You are very young!

- in the nicest way possible - gain some perspective. You are extremely lucky if these very minor things are the things that are worrying you.
