Was the Strictly tour an overall a success (Wynne being vile aside) or is it overkill and getting tired? Never been so am interested

I think the tour was an overall success - Strictly has a diverse audience, which helps. The people I was sitting near who hadn’t been before, commented how outstanding the pros were live and that they were more impressive live than on tv.

Picking up a comment from the last thread, yes, Aljaz looks much fitter now, adn seems to have finally got back in shape. I imagine he's giong to stay for another few years, after a great showing with Tasha (and yes, on the show I found them a bit bland, but he definitely devised some beautiful ballroom routines for her, and she needed a partner who was safely married, given the frenzy round her).
Speaking of, Jamie laughed at the idea of Tasty, and said she was like a sister last night. Maybe she's still with the tit-licker anyway

With the arena tour I felt that some routines I enjoyed more live than on tv and vice versa. Aljaz and Tasha outstanding live - beige on tv. Sarah for me was impressive live as well - although I enjoyed her on tv as well.
I was surprised by the fact that for me Aljaz stood out in the pro dances. Said in a previous post Aljaz and Nikita were the standout male pros for me.
Last year’s tour I was surprised by the fact that both Angelas dances translated better live than on tv, but, Ellie not so much live. Her dances I preferred on tv.

Adding - Sarah like a pray dance was enhanced by having Jowita, Karen, Robbie and Jake as backing dances.

S*n reporting that Wynne is going to take the BBC to a tribunal over unfair dismissal :cautious:

Insiders said Wynne’s controversial “spit-roast” remark — which was captured on video — was not aimed at Strictly pro Janette Manrara as claimed.
Our source said: “Wynne knows the meaning behind his comment and, to his frustration, so do many of the pro dancers and celebrities who were on the tour with him.
"He is heartbroken by how this all played out and is upset that no one has spoken out to defend him publicly.
He knows the language was unacceptable but, ultimately, the meaning behind what he said is not out there.
"It was an ‘in’ joke. It didn’t offend anyone and no one complained. Wynne feels badly let down by the whole process and some of his co-stars who he was incredibly close to.”
What a mistake it was hiring him, especially as he was a last-minute sub for a woman..

I'm watching Dancing on Ice and Michaela Strachan is juat fabulous. Underscored in favour of some no mark from Essex or Love Island - don't know which cos I've never heard of the guy. (TBF I'd never heard of Pete Wicks but he quickly made his mark)

You can't tell me that Strictly couldn't have signed up Michaela Strachan??? Or Anthea Turner??? Or Yvette Fielding??? Or another woman like that.

I think they focus too much on influences. They need to try signing actual celebrities

Micheala has been moaning about not being called for Strictly for a while. She's a bit too annoying*, maybe. Anthea would have been a good mid-00s contestant but there are probably more interesting middle aged women now.

*I rethought this after reeling through the multitude of annoying contestants 😂 but begging to be on a show is a bit cringe.

Anthea wasn't half bad on this Children In Need special, actually

Nadiya looks prettier and younger without the filters in my opinion.
Wynne - even if it was an inside joke it was completely inappropriate to say it at a press launch for a brand that is family oriented. Know your brand. The pros and the celebs can hardly come forward and say that is how we talk to each other backstage etc, as it is off brand.

Seeing Vito with Shirls and valentines self love plans makes me sad that Jane McD may never do Strictly. Truly believe she is the perfect partner for Vito.

I'm not sensing it was an inside joke which Janette was in on, so there is nothing inside or jokey about it. If that quote is true, he really doesn't think he did anything wrong, does he? 🤦🏽‍♀️

I need to have Jane repeatedly saying "Vito" in her Wakey accent! Maybe they can persuade her to do the Christmas special? She always seems to be doing ITV and Channel 5 stuff over the festive period (plus panto last year), so maybe is too busy, but maybe I can start an appeal.

She looks like Danni Minogue if you ordered her off Wish

Vito’s black and white insta story I enjoyed watching that. Didn’t listen to what he saying.

So apparently Wynne is ‘bitterly disappointed’ by the lack of support from those on the tour who he thought were his friends. He claims his vile remark was something that had been said repeatedly before, and feels he has been thrown under the bus.

I wonder what evidence he will be giving at his tribunal (if the BBC let it get that far).

his “defence” everyone on the tour was continually talking about spit-roasting? seriously?!
