Anyone have any to share?
My most significant is a few years back when I was in between jobs doing what I focused on at the time (a victim of the 2008 financial crash, jobs were scarce), I joined the casual overflow team for a utilities company, answering after-hours calls.
One day one of my customers asked if I'd like a job working for one of his companies as he loved the sound of my voice. I called him outside of working hours to discuss it further and although I didn't accept what he was offering, he told someone else about me, who just happened to own a talent agency for professional voiceover artists. I've been doing work for them ever since and it pays quite well; often though, it's just fun being picked up and driven across town to a professional recording studio, being given refreshments and treated like a queen. I still do my 'real job' alongside my voiceover job.
I have plennnnnty of stories about being in the wrong place at the wrong time, but let's not go there
