Why's she started putting her blush high up, not far from her undereye area? It looks quite strange
I also don’t understand the straight across eyebrows either. In her latest video it looks like she has shaved the ends off on purpose.

I do like that she does come up with ideas that seem unique and get stolen but I think she needs to loose the fake ditsy girl with the fake laugh on her videos. I still watch her videos as she seema sweet but I just feel like maybe getting a part time job at an office or even a shop would seriously help her anxiety. It almost seems like she is has agoraphobia has she ever mentioned it?

I like her but she needs to lose those straight eyebrows, they don't suit her at all.
It's a pet peeve of mine anyway but the blusher in a line across her face makes her look sunburnt. The makeup looked so much better until she whacked that on🤦‍♀️

She used to work in a Post Office, and vlogged herself there, saying she felt awful and had had a panic attack (I think, was a long time ago). She then had a job cleaning houses, which she seemed to like more, then her channel took off. Even then she never seemed to ever go anywhere. I remember she went to Brighton for a day trip, and had a panic attack and they had to go home. The same thing happened when she went with Alex to a gig. Listen, I sympathise, I have had panic attacks, and my mother suffers from them something awful. BUT, she can still get help for them. I have been offered medication and there is CBT available, it helped my mother a lot. Plus, I'm sure she could afford some sort of other therapy. Since she's started working from home, and that's a good few years now, she's deep into her comfort zone and seems unwilling to push herself or try anything. I don't think she ever leaves the house, which in itself is very worrying. Instead of a cat she should have got a dog, at least then she would be forced to go out for a short while to walk it.

I feel like she has isolated herself so much from working from home that now any social interaction scares her. I wonder how Alex feels about this as it must be such a horrible feeling to know she clearly needs help with her anxiety. To be fair she could be having therapy but I don’t get that impression. I really hope she decides to push her comfort zone's and I think you can already tell it’s getting worse and can imagine the pandemic has made it worse as she has an excuse.

I remember her Post Office/Cleaning days and liked her chilled out vlogs. It's sad that she's isolated so much. I'm a introvert and quite isolated when I think about it, plus get panicky in crowds, but it's still possible to have day trips to quiet places. I remember they went on holiday once. Did they just hang around the villa? I can't remember ...

There was another YouTuber who was quite similar to her ... Alice? Can't remember her surname. Lived near Oxford. I think she gave up her channel a few years ago. Can anyone remember her or her channel name? (Not wanting to derail the thread, but it's gonna annoy me now!)

Being indoors all the time is the worst thing for having anxiety. I suffer from anxiety as well and I always thought working from home would be perfect for me because I struggled going to school and uni, especially for exams and presentations but now after covid and everything being online I see it’s the worst for someone who struggles with mental health. It seems comfortable at first but only increases your anxiety and feeds into fear over time. Not to mention it’s hard having a stable routine and being productive after being closed in the same space all the time. No wonder so many youtubers lose their routine and become unproductive over time, it really takes a lot of mental strength to keep it up all the time. I know I can’t wait now till everything goes back to normal and I have to go to in-person classes again. Sophie would definitely benefit from getting a normal job, in fact I’m confused why Alex doesn’t help her pushing her out of her comfort zone.

Yeah i agree, I’ve said before she would do well in an office job. She’d have a routine to stick to which would help her anxiety as she’d be going to the same place everyday doing the same hours with the same people but she’d be out in public everyday talking to people and socialising, it’d do great things for her.

Does anyone think she won’t have taken the vaccine? I don’t think I’ve seen her mention anything about it and I can’t imagine she would go on her own due to her anxiety etc

She’s very *put the video in fir background noise* esc. I never fully pay attention to her videos, but will put them on while I’m doing things around the house for some company.

Watching her for years I do like her, and I do think she’s a nice girl. But I have to disagree with the genuine comments. I think now she’s doing twitch she’s finding it a lot harder to keep up the ditsy 2014 Zoella personality that she’s not been able to shack off. Now she’s seemingly starting to be more herself I’m losing the disingenuous thought a bit.

I’m not too bothered about her choose to jump to twitch either, she’s mentioned a lot over the years how she enjoys games. Just because they’re heavily Nintendo doesn’t change the fact she’s a “gamer”. I think Twitch (IF she properly sticks to it) could he a lot better for her than Youtube which you can tell she’s only doing these days for an income and nothing else.

I think her problem is she’s trapped in her own comfort bubble. I’m sure her and Alex have a lovely relationship off camera but even if they didn’t she’s too stuck in her own ways to call anything off.

TLDR: She seems nice, but the Youtube persona is disingenuous so I’m glad it’s finally starting to slip.

I’ve not really kept up with her tbh, how do you mean the persona is starting to slip ?? How does she act different on twitch as opposed to YouTube ??

I think out of all the people who have jumped over to twitch (sophdoeslife and Sophie foster) she’s the most genuine and doesn’t want to do it for money unlike the other two.
Since she’s started twitch she does seem more likeable and maybe she’s discovered people like her for her and not this persona she’s had to keep up for over the years

I just don’t know how she doesn’t go crazy from boredom?! I’m a proper home bird, 5 months into maternity leave and already feel like the dullest human on the planet. My partner gets home from work and I’m like “I literally have nothing to tell you about” 😂. Surely soph is the same?!

She’s less giggly, dropping things, timid, high pitched, trying to seem cutesy on twitch. She seems a lot more herself, which is inevitable since it’s very hard to keep up a persona when you’re live. She’s much more likeable as herself though, wish she had been that way always.

I think twitch has been good for her as an individual- she has definitely become more genuine and herself.

However it is notoriously hard to grow on, probably the hardest platform to have success on, and I highly doubt she will make it too far unless she really really dedicates herself. Obviously she may just be doing it for a fun side project, without too much ambition for huge success/followers/subs, which is totally fine. But I do wonder for her future, as she seems way more passionate about twitch than youtube so she could choose to prioritize it more, but the difficulty to grow could become an issue financially if she did. There's so many "beauty" influencers who have started twitch in the last year or so: sophie, sophdoeslife, sophie foster, roxxsaurus, steph toms, lucy flight, even anastasia kingsnorth and emily canham who have mentioned wanting to try it. Despite pretty much all of these people having an audience of around 100k+ beforehand, none have been that successful. I'm pretty sure Sophie is the only one to regularly be over 100 viewers, which is actually in the top 1% of streamers, which shows how hard it is to grow. (kinda OT but it's interesting that every influencer who has started/mentioned twitch is friends with talia mar and some have also mentioned her being an inspiration/help to them. I think some are clearly on twitch for money/clout, likely after seeing the success she's had, forgetting that she started out in a similar position to them despite her previous following and her connections, and had to stream daily for hours and make an effort to interact with the twitch community to reach where she is now.)

I think the difference is Sophie actually likes gaming compared to the others whereas the others try to be entertaining because there is a lack of passion for games (if that makes sense)
I think if she branches out and tries making friends with twitch streamers and plays with them (instead of her YouTube friends) then it will give her new friends who share an interest with her.
Long story short, the others have never mentioned gaming in the pass till twitch became popular and saw easy money but don’t actually know how hard it is whereas sophie has mentioned games in the pass and followers streamers on Instagram and actually puts effort to make the stream enjoyable for her viewers.
Sorry for the long rant, but since Sophie foster said she was joining twitch, it’s just been on my mind how they do it for easy money without putting in the same amount of effort as what Sophie did

I agree with you completely! Like I said, Twitch is so hard to grow on, but I think if Sophie fully commits herself she could succeed. I do believe she has a genuine passion (unlike literally every other influencer trying twitch, who are clearly doing it for clout/maybe copying talia), but she'll need to push herself to interact with other streamers, etc. (I know its difficult with her anxiety though so if she's hesitant that's understandable)

It reminds me of when everyone started a gaming channel back in 2014. It’s easy to see who’s genuine about it (dan and Phil for example) and who’s just doing it for money (Alfie deyes). It’s weird how it’s come back around but instead of vloggers it’s the makeup girls.
Sophie has the knowledge of gaming and twitch unlike the others and if she does make twitch friends she can go far.
I know I keep mentioning her but I went on Sophie fosters stream of her playing Mario kart and it was boring. she wasn’t playing it probably such as drifting and she could of played with her audience but it was her and two other people and the rest cpus when she could of gone online. It isn’t the easy money they think it is and I think they’ll soon realise that

Oh my, I had completely suppressed that memory 😂 . Also reminded me of a few years ago when Minecraft got some traction again so everyone made gaming channels (makeup girls included) just to upload 2 videos, realise they couldn’t get the millions of views the already established people did so they gave up.

I think the reason Soph is doing so well with twitch is because even though she pulls in consistent viewers, it will seem lower to her than the thoasands that view 1 video, so it seems less anxiety inducing? I remember should would often say a good few times how she prefers when views are low because when videos blow up it stresses her out. Twitch seems like the perfect solution to that fear, considering you can be successful enough on there (with brand deals , donos and subs) with a fair sized reoccurring fan base.
