Sophie and Dave #48 We're going to need a bigger pebble Dave

Just putting this out there now Sophie & Dave #49: Weeks since the last vlog.

To be fair they did go to Scotland during the last thread and Dave managed to make a complete tit of himself twice at his mum's festival. Once by appearing on a panel about privacy and mental health in social media which only went to demonstrate how little he knows about this area. If that wasn't enough we were also "treated" to Dave "singing". The sound guy tried to mix the sound so Dave was drowned out by the backing music, that's all you need to know about how painful it was.

As I type we are eagerly awaiting Soaf's latest excuse as to why it's now May and they still haven't announced their promised two trips to WDW this year, including one stay which will be a month long! And in other news, pigs might fly.

We are all eagerly awaiting a vlog about their Disney trip which was due this week but is of course, non existent.
Barney still can’t talk/walk/be seen anywhere other than his pushchair or in Dave’s arms.
Chip is still depressed.
LHOM is “busy organising the next drop of products”.
That’s genuinely about all folks.
Dave has appeared in his home gem this afternoon after Soaf allowed him to post on Instagram about his sugar filled ice lollies after a workout.

Why is he so bleeping smug By my reckoning he’s got to burn off AT LEAST three chocolate croissants before he even touches his gutline . She is definitely out to sabotage any weight lose - it’s hardly the mark of a supportive, loving wife to bake (not from scratch mind) a whole packet of sweet pastry in front of your morbidly obese husband (who has zero willpower and is food obsessed) when he’s trying to lose 150lbs and stop himself from dying of a heart attack before he hits 40. What. A. witch.

This is not an excuse in any form, but I'm starting to wonder how mentally toxic that house must be right now and I reckon they both must be suffering mentally at the moment, hence the lack of vlogs and "personal issues".

When Sophie found out she was pregnant, they were still buzzing from their Disney honeymoon, Dave had just finished TPTGW and probably thinking this would kickstart the rest of his career and they were living just outside London and their YouTube was at its highest (because they actually went out and did stuff). They envisioned a brown haired little girl, in pretty floral dresses. They envisioned Dave on the west end in show after show whilst Sophie stayed at home planning their next Disney trip and looking after their perfect daughter and Chip. Throw in Dave's weight loss of 100ib as well!

What they actually got was back in Cheshire, with a ginger haired lad, no west end life, no perfect family, no money for Disney, the list goes on and on. It's easy to see how they could both be clinically depressed. I've not suffered myself but seen someone very close to me suffer and the effort just to even get out of bed is horrible... And it's explains everything! Their lack of vlogs, actively on social media, parenting, chip, weight loss, little house of tragic, etc. If I am right, I seriously hope they recognise this and get some help.

I would say most of the time with anyone else I would completely agree with this but at the same time I can’t get my head around all the lies and deceit and scams. All the false promises and this goes way back before it all started to fall apart.

I have no doubt there is a lot of stress in that house but there is only one way they can get themselves out of the hole they are in and that is to seek help and get normal stable lives, leave YouTube and social media and focus on the important things in life. Instead we get Dave giving a talk as an “expert” on how to stay safe online and keeping yourself healthy mentally.

I personally don’t think they are depressed just delusional and waiting for something to fall into their laps without working at it.

I don’t think they are depressed, Sophie is still up her arse about being a floral influencer, Dave is still arrogant as duck about being a mega weightlifter extraordinaire. I think it’s a sulk like a child cause things aren’t going as they imagined, soaf is sulking about not being in Disney, Dave is sulking that he is stuck with her

I'm sure they show signs of being depressed and it's definitely a toxic relationship and household but I don't think they are depressed.
Even Soph's family gave her the nickname of being a sloth and I believe she is just a lazy person. Dave is clearly deluded.. it's like they both enable each other to be the worst version of themselves

Either way, if they went to a GP or saw a therapist, they would suggest lifestyle changes such as having a consistent routine, regular job/volunteering, light exercise, fresh air, balanced diet, hobbies, social life.

If you are seriously unwell with depression it's pretty hard to do the things I've listed above but I think they are just incredibly lazy and entitled.
The content/flamily/possible money is all there for them if they even tried the slightest bit!

Also, don't forget that their current lifestyle is 100% their choosing. When Soaf fell pregnant they decided to give up their lovely house in Basingstoke, give up their jobs and evict Mummy Ratbags from her ensuite bedroom. Then they scammed the flamily to allow them to rent the beige bungalow by tearfully claiming they were homeless. Yes, because they had deliberately made themselves homeless! They had a house that they decided to leave (after Soaf had spent a considerable amount of time and money decorating it). They then decided not to seek paid employment and rely on YouTube for their income, despite having mediocre views and content. Their decision making is consistently poor, demonstrating an inability to think long term which is particularly concerning now they have a child.

What I'm trying to say is, they could have been living in their house in Basingstoke, both of them with decent jobs and a decent YouTube income on the side to fund trips to WDW. But due to poor decisions they can't afford to go to Chester Zoo let alone Animal Kingdom.

I don’t know if it’s stress or depression but what I do know is that it is realisation!!! The realisation that they are totally different people !! Dave thrives off other people , even though he is big it doesn’t phase him. Whereas SOAF is anti social as duck and they are both bringing out the worst in each other
They may think they love each other but there is no chemistry whatsoever

When I first started watching their videos, Dave was full of life, bubbly, social, thriving, had friends and was even successful. Since he married Sophie, he’s seemed down, lack lustre, she cuts him off when he speaks, he barely features in videos, he seems depressed. She doesn’t like socialising, she has no friends, no career aspects, only wanted a student loan to go to WDW, she has no motivation to succeed even as a mothers and she’s brought him down to her level. She seems to sabotage his weight loss and he has to do whatever she wants aka eat crossaints, do the chores, look after Barney whilst she does nothing. He seems a shell of the man he used to be. And he’s gained weight which I’m blaming on her lack of compassion and care to help motivate him to lose it.

While I agree with what you've said, what I'll never understand is when he was away from Soaf for a year on tour, claiming he was carefully watching his calories, having a very physical role on stage and walking sometimes quite long distances to and from his digs he still didn't lose weight. And his bizarre defensiveness about it, who can forget "Just a little word ...". There are some deep rooted issues with Dave's weight loss. I agree Soaf doesn't help but I don't think that one is all on her.

Love everyone's responses to the "depression" thought, all very true.

They need super nanny to come in and give them a kick up the arse! They need a complete life change, change career, lifestyle etc. It absolutely baffles me that she buys things from Jo Jo mama Bebe (expensive unless gifted) and dresses alll the damn time but won't take Barney to Chester zoo. We took our 6 month old twins to sea Life centre (mainly for the sensory lights) but they absolutely loved looking at all the fish etc. And I can't wait to take them to the zoo. They could argue that "just becasue you don't see it on video doesn't mean we don't go out" but then where is the vlog content? If they were taking Barney out, why not vlog it? Oh unless they are taking Barney to another fun filled, pram prison trip to the Trafford centre

I don’t understand why the holidays they go on needs to be WDW. I’m going to Spain on Tuesday with my 16 month old and I know he’s going to love it, they’ll be a pool to play in, a playground, activities for him and we can also rest when he needs to.

Barneys going to miss out on so much joy because Soaf won’t entertain the idea of going anywhere else other than WDW (which Imo is overpriced now anyway).
