I'm not feeling bitter.......I had severe sickness but, had no other option to work as a nursing sister up to 39 weeks. I had five days in hospital with my first as I started haemorrhaging at 29 weeks....I was pumped full of steroids in case I went into labour early but, the bleeding stopped and my scan was fine. After a 27 hour labour, the midwives realised my daughter was coming out face up and was stuck. Forty minutes of the midwife and on call ob/gynae registrar pulling and tugging.....and 33 stitches later , my daughter was born.......who was then diagnosed with learning difficulties.....the sickness has long been forgotten but, the day I gave birth hasn't!
My dog ate a McDonald’s napkin earlier this evening. I feel this is also relevant to Soph’s thread because like you have a baby and she will have a baby.. I have a dog and she has a dog and some dogs eat napkins and some don’t but I’ll put together a big story about my dog for the thread when I have a moment

I came off the pill after being on it for 2 years after the birth of my first child. 1 week and 1 'try' later i was pregnant.
The worst part of influencers getting pregnant is the amount of people that use tattle threads to babble about their own kids and getting pregnant 🥱 Let’s have this thread for talking about boring Soph and the relevant tattle thread for people to discuss their kids / mumsnet for your own pregnancy!

You may find it boring but she’s stuck to the same content as before! It’s a good thing she hasn’t gone down the mommy blogger route and showing the baby constantly. Respect her for that.

ngl I hate this attitude. She’s experiencing pregnancy for the first time, and being sick IS awful. When I was pregnant, I was so sick of other women telling me “just wait, it gets worse” 🙄
Two HG pregnancies down and I personally found the neverending sickness infinitely worse than any part of labour. I’ve said it before on this thread, but it isn’t a competition. I get that Soph likes to complain, but pregnancy IS tough, it’s made tougher by the ‘just you wait’ attitude from others who are feeling bitter!

I'm not saying the shoes are great though. It's the wording she's chosen to use for them which is, as I said, ignorant.

"Just ignorance" isn't a great thing either and regardless if she meant harm or not she needs to think about the words she uses to describe something. She would be more mindful of other cultures so why not the Japanese?
Not a massive Soph fan, but genuinely, is she (everyone?) expected to know everything that is culturally significant to every country/culture in the world?

I think even if the labour and birth itself wasn’t ‘traumatic’, the baby being resuscitated and then being too unwell to hold your baby for several hours is serious!
She must’ve been in a bad way to not have been able to hold him.

I actually think is refreshing to see her still doing make up etc and not move towards all baby/parenting content. So many "influencers " have a baby and then all of a sudden the baby is the new content and they are essentially making money of the kid which is so wrong. I quite liked her friend Jazzy but literally since she peed on the stick, that's all her content has been about, also sharing bathtime pics 😖 At least soph has the sense to keep the little man away from all that and protect his privacy.

To be honest , if he didn't work people would say he was living off soph. I have respect for people that chose to work , even if they don't need to. Like Mrs hinches husband is generally seen as a bit of a layabout by her "trolls" because he quit work and now faffs around boosting his wife's ego all day and enjoying the good lifestyle without having to do very much. I think Soph and her fella are pretty normal and down to earth compared to some of the other beggars *cough Solomon and swash cough*.

On a similar topic, I want to give her credit for putting in a time stamp for when she stops talking about her pregnancy in her Q & A video so people who might not want to hear about it because they're struggling with infertility or loss or are just not interested in pregnancy stuff can skip that section. I personally fall into the "not interested" category so I wasn't emotionally affected, just bored, but I thought it was very considerate of her.

Soph says she’s not sure if she’ll share the baby’s name or face when he gets here. Hats off to her if she does as there are some seriously unhinged people online, who use images of children for ‘pleasure’ …..However, she’s also discussing and hinting at prams on her blog. She’s already been sent a Snuz pod to try out. Manufacturer’s will be wanting their baby products advertised on her social media - presumably with the baby included. I know she can blur the baby’s face etc etc but, she either wants to keep her baby offline or she doesn’t. I’ve seen many vloggers say they won’t share their baby but, then the freebies come in …or sponsorship money - their baby is the last on their list of priorities and they suddenly decide to share their baby

I’m also going to have to unfollow, I’ve been struggling to get pregnant and seeing people seemingly getting pregnant so easy, actually breaks me!

I really think she’ll struggle with a baby. This is the woman who had cereal sat on her dining room table for months because it was too difficult to take it back to the kitchen.

I also agree. Think people are being a bit harsh on her. Sounds like she's had a really tough time, and it's probably good for other women going through it, to hear that there's others going through the same thing. Yeah it's a moany vlog, but why wouldn't it be with how she's been feeling 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don't have a 'baby'.......they're 24 and 21
Not to derail and said with love, but if you’re still this affected by the birth of your children several decades later, you might benefit from some support for it. Birth trauma is absolutely valid and lots of women experience it.

I think she had the baby midweek - end of last week. Just a random thought that popped in my head like "Sophs had her baby" 😂.

I had her pregnancy q&a as background lastnight and I might be being petty, reaching, whatever because I'd much rather people recycle/reuse etc etc but when she said she got loads off vinted for baby/baby room... It kinda bothered me? Like, she's been gifted stuff and she can definitely afford things brand new so why not leave the vinted stuff for people that can't afford brand new, y'know?

Just to add, it doesn't bother me when she buys clothes from vinted. I think that's great but the baby stuff I think could have been left for some less able to pay new prices iyswim? Again, I might just be being petty and reaching but 🤷🏻‍♀️ oh well 😂.
I don’t see it as problem as long as she then gifts it to friends and family and doesn’t resell it! I think it’s good she’s prompting using vinted for baby stuff as not enough first time mums do it and then when they’re in it for like 5 mins it’s wasted! Vinted isn’t short of baby stuff, so she isn’t depriving anyone of anything!
