I was going to buy some Chub Rubs but I've been so put off by their "inclusivity" I haven't. I unsubscribed from their emails but I might message Brie about that...

It’s like the admin is a perv who wants to get off to women talking about swapping partners 🤢

Surely if people aren’t sure then it’s a No. recipe for disaster that and not really chat for a tights group

I couldn’t believe it when I got the desperate email about the chub rubs the other day. First they ask customers to prop them up during covid and that was one thing. But trying it again with this. Do what other businesses do when sales are falling - try to figure out why and change it. Maybe it’s something to do with the mumsnetters boycotting Snag because of the way Brie talked about them on social media. duck around with the customers with buying power and find out I guess.

I tried out popsy tights last week and they were great - better than Snag actually, they seemed a better length for my short legs. I know Popsy has its own issues but at least Sandra doesn’t scold people who don’t want various kinks alongside their tights.

Who knew that alienating your core customer base was a sure-fire way to tank your business?

How could any competent business owner be expected to know that? 🤷‍♀️

Someone was asking for recommendations for chub rub shorts on a women institute members Facebook group and there were some comments that they no longer buy from snag because of the pictures of men in tights so yeah alienating your core customer base is not a good idea.

I mean it’s not really men in tights that are the issue if they’re styling them appropriately- it’s fine to be inclusive although it gets a bit eye rolly if it’s OTT, but the occasional representation is fine to show Snag is for everyone. What the issue is is the relentless sexualisation of the tights and being exposed to fetishes? A lot which isn’t even anything to do with tights or Snag

What did Brie say about Mumsnet? I remember something vaguely about Snag saying they wouldn’t stop posting kink just to appease Mumsnet or similar

See this is what I mean though, this is from an email. They continue to mix things like harnesses with communications just about normal tights- there’s no separate spicy snag emails 🤢 and kids wear them so a 15 year old could have subscribed to the email because she likes the my little pony tights..,

Snag are finished as far as I am concerned. I loved their tights, I loved their capris in the summer with all the bright colours, and the chub rub shorts made floaty dresses a dream to wear.
But then came the men in tights. And the cumslut badges. And slowly the company has turned into a vaguely discomfiting soft porn site, and while I'm not fatshaming anyone, why all the female models plus plus size? Why not show an ordinary woman, size 14 - 16, wearing their tights? Why is there such a fat fetish? Love your body, wear what you want, certainly, but stop showcasing the supersized women and pervy men to sell your products.

My mind can’t comprehend someone PRE-ORDERING a pair of tights. Worse still that 4 months later they still haven’t arrived.

Here is the post that directly addresses mumsnet, the main body of it is kink shaming = bad however the post they are addressing was one where a mumsnetter objected to Snag selling a badge that said ‘choke me’ so not kink shaming as much as objecting to glorifying sexual violence. But anyway the real discussion happens in the comments where posters say things like ‘I thought mumsnet was a place for cake recipes haha’ showing how much they value women’s opinions and Brie responding congratulating them for denigrating the women of Mumsnet and joining in.

Now don’t get me wrong, I am an active member of the Mumsnet thread here on Tattle and there’s definitely some batshit people on there particularly in AIBU but for the most part it is women sharing their thoughts and opinions and I don’t like seeing such a vast discussion area for women dismissed with the wave of a hand. No more than I think Tattle should be dismissed as just a gossip site because the main user base is women when there are areas here that have real value thanks to articulate women expressing valuable opinions.

I’ve said it before but kink sharing is fine if everyone consents. If you don’t consent to being shown sexual images for example it’s literally assault.

Only 408 reactions though (sure some are negative like angry or sick) isn’t great from a brand with hundreds of thousands of followers 🫧
