Not an empty but unuseable. ☹
Dr Pawpaw It Does It All hair treatment styler.
It’s supposed to be a spray but it’s as thick as conditioner so I can’t get any product out through the spray. Expiry is 04/25 so it’s not congealed because of that.
I received this in my monthy beauty box subscription.
Would not repurchase.
I had the same problem with mine too! It wasn't even half empty when I binned it.

I used to have a really elaborate skin care routine but for some reason I got out of the habit of doing it. So for a while now I’ve been cleansing with Liz Earle and then a bit of moisturiser and spf and my skin has never looked better! I’m 63 by the way. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Love this , I am now downsizing my skincare and I like the simplicity of it, Liz Earle is fabulous , there is a Next beauty box which is all Liz Earle on the Next website at the minute , might have to treat myself, I'm 61

Geek & Gorgeous C-Glow Vitamin C serum. Loved this, definitely saw improvement on pigmentation spots. Reasonable price for a Vit C serum as well. Likely repurchase after I've used up some other serums.

I have the light HA5 from G&G as I love their vit c serum. So far I like the light one but would love to know how you get on with the rich 😍
I've used it for about a week now, my previous serum was always by Inkey List. Admittedly can't say that the G&G one is "richer" or more moisturizing than the Inkey List one, but I also don't have their Light serum for comparison. It's not bad in any way though! I might go back to Inkey List as that one is often a bit cheaper and I like the litter bottles better, but that is really the only thing I can say about it. Very solid HA serum, not leaving any tackiness behind, no scent either.
I like it better than the HA serum by The Ordinary, but I haven't used that in several years and they might have changed the formula since then. I hated that one and it gave my blackheads.

Finished another bar of Dove Cream Beauty Bar today, they're my holy grail for showering with.

Thank you for coming back with a review, I think I will try the rich version once I've finished the light one up!

3 empties:

Cultured Biomecare - Biome One Cleansing balm, travel size.
I received this either in a subscription box or a GWP box. It wasn’t anything special but did what it was supposed to do. I’d not repurchase but would use it if I received it in a beauty box again.

Prai + M&S - MenoGlow Collagen Boosting Cremegel Moisturiser.
I received this in my monthly beauty subscription box. it was fine to use but no different from any cheap moisturiser. It is a gel formula and I prefer a cream. It was fine during the summer months but I need more as the weather cools. I’d not repurchase but would use again if it came in a beauty box.

Beauty Pie - Superbrow Angled Shaping Pencil, shade Blonde Girl.
This is the ideal shade for me. Unfortunately I’m no longer a member of Beauty Pie so I can’t repurchase. I’ve since tried a Nyx “blonde” equivalent but it’s orange. I’ve bought a Rimmel one which is a good colour match but it’s a thick crayon size. Maybelline do a good match for me which I’m currently using but I do miss the Beauty Pie one.

There's a FB group of members selling their Beauty Pie stuff, so I'd check there or ebay if you want another

Gah told myself I wasn’t going to buy anything this month, but needed to do an iherb order and some k-beauty and some other bits fell into my cart. I also found a heap of samples I’d forgotten about when I was cleaning up. Going backwards over here 😂

Balea Niacinamide Serum. Purchased as a cheaper alternative to Inkey Lists niacinamide serum, glad it’s gone. I didn’t see it also contained zinc, a formulation I already disliked from The Ordinary. Probably won’t repurchase a niacinamide serum soon, still not sure they do anything for my skin.

I’m still looking for a savey niacinamide that I like because I know that it’s an amazing ingredient, but can’t find anything in my price range that gives me the results I know it’s capable of.

This is not a helpful recommendation because it’s expensive and doesn’t seem to be available in the UK, but the Aspect Extreme B17 (niacinamide) is my all time favourite product. It does the absolute most for my skin. I see visible improvement with texture and pigmentation. It smells like Berroca 😂 but it makes my skin glow.

There’s an Aspect Dr Multi B Plus available in salons in the UK, which I imagine is better, but even more expensive.

Depending on your price range, take a look at The Inkey List, it’s around 12€ here for 30ml and really the best one I have tried.

are you after a product with just niacinamide or happy to use something that contains other things? What are you wanting to achieve with it?

Forgot to report using up a Balea Vitamin C sheet mask. I love them, always bring them on business drips to give my poor skin a bit of love. Got one more backup.

The last quarter of 2024 is (almost) upon us and I will do my yearly ritual now of aiming to use up several products:

  • Maria Nila Structure Repair Hair Mask (great but needs to be used up, has been open for ages)
  • Missha BB Cream Bright Beige (similar, I think I've had this since 2019 :censored:)
  • Maybelline Fit Me Powder in 115
  • Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 03
  • Inkey List glycolic acid toner
  • Inkey List polyglutamic acid serum
  • Jean & Len Leave In Spray
Some of them, like the Missha BB cream, will definitely be a challenge as I usually don't wear makeup (wfh 100%) but I want to get back into the habit a bit more as I feel I'm getting frumpy and starting a new job soon that should have me see colleagues in person more often and I don't want to panic every time.

Simple gentle exfoliating face wash - really like this, it’s inexpensive too.
Asda tiger moon range - everything is £4 and I really like it! I’ve used up the vitamin c face cream spf20, vitamin c toner, retinol night cream and hyaluronic acid eye gel and I’d definitely repurchase!

If it was in a yellow bottle, I had the same issue last week 😭 not even half empty... But it was impossible to spray it. It was in date still, I got it from Home Bargains.
Yes that’s the one! It’s probably why I received it in a subscription box and it’s cheap in Home Bargains because it’s not fit for purpose.

Another month's worth of used up products!

JVN Complete Conditioning Mist - This was a massive disappointment, much like everything else I have tried from this line. It was a thin creamy spray that had the texture of something that should have been moisturising but did absolutely nothing to my hair. By the time I got to the end of the bottle I think it had separated because it had gotten weirdly watery even though it was well within the use by window.

Only Curls All Curl Cleanser - This did absolutely nothing for my hair and made my scalp feel both dry and tight as well as oily.

Only Curls All Curl Conditioner - This was absolutely not nourishing enough for my hair. Left it feeling lank but frizzy.

Kaine Green Calm Aqua Cream - This was a GWP using a code from Topcashback for a Stylevana order. The cream has a lovely lightweight gel texture and sank into my skin quickly leaving it moisturised. It played well with my SPF and other products I put on top. Only downside was that it came in a square jar with a lip round the top which made it difficult to get the product out.

Kosas Revealer Concealer - Got this with a voucher because of all the hype and it didn't work for me. Found it left my undereyes dry and creased and went weirdly patchy on the areas I used it around my face. Also the lightest shade was too yellow and too dark for me.

Axis-y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum - Lovely Gel like niacinamide serum. Affordable K Beauty product, even more so if you buy from sites like Stylevana rather than UK based K and J Beauty website.

ELF Suntouchables Whoa Glow in Sunbeam (sample) - Had a nice lightweight texture but I found the chemically sunscreen smell made my eyes water. Think this was the lightest shade, made me look slightly orange. Nice glow to it without being sparkly.

Metrosa Metronidazole 0.75% Gel - Prescription gel for my rosacea, need to contact my GP to get more as I think it really helped my redness. Not so much the blemishes though. Might see if I can get azelaic acid too.

Revolution Ceramides Hydrating Cleanser - Second bottle of this cleanser I have finished, currently using the third bottle I had bought when I found it on sale. I really liked this cleanser initially because it was very creamy but I think it has been reformulated because both this bottle and the one I'm currently using are noticeably thinner. Much preferred the old texture, also not entirely sure this rinses clean any more. Shame.

Revolution x Sali Hughes Clean Sheet Morning Cleanser - I absolutely hated this. The gel was too thick and didn't rinse off my face. Tried to use it to clean my makeup brushes and it did absolutely nothing for them. Relegated it to a hand wash. Pleased it's done.

Decluttered products for the month:

Heimish Black Tea Mask Pack (sample) - A sample I received in an advent calendar. Had one previously but I can't remember if I liked it or not. Sadly this expired before I got to try it again.

Only Curls Hydrating Curl Cream - Hated this. Very thin, did absolutely nothing for my hair. Used a quarter of it and had to let it go.

Only Curls Enhancing Curl Gel - Hated this. Left my hair feeling crispy and dry whilst looking frizzy and greasy. Definitely not a gel scrunching curly girl 😂

Garnier Ultimate Blends Plumping Hair Food Watermelon and Pomegranate - Had to get rid of this because the smell of it gave me the worst migraine. Much like the Papaya mask I used up in August, this did bugger all for my hair other than envelop me in a scent I couldn't stand.

Spectrum Sunbounce Bronzer in Rise and Spectrum Sunbounce Bronzer in Shine - GWP when I bought a brush set from Spectrum Cosmetics. These were straight up orange on my skin. I prefer bronzers to have a more red undertone for a sunburnt look, anything too warm and it's straight Oompa Loompa on me.
