This could get complicated and derail the thread but people tend to stick to similar demographics in friendship groups because of the
tit micro aggressions that come up constantly, like it is definitely safer for BAME people to not put themselves in the firing line for insensitive white ppl at work/socially. The same applies with brown and black folk, like colourism is a thing and I had an Indian friend who regularly upset our mutual black friend through this
Personally I would worry why I had no black friends if I was in a multicultural area (obvs less relevant if you’re in a remote Scottish Ireland with a population of 10) cos it’s a bit of a red flag IMO? Like what about me is making my black colleagues not feel safe enough to have a chat / go out for lunch?
Re SATC - I guess it’s like the female James Bond thing though. Like was it Daniel Craig who said that instead of shoehorning in a woman after the fact we should dedicate time to developing proper woman centred stories? Does the same apply in reverse? Like is it okay to keep these old franchises going as before? Will be interesting to see how far they go with it, I don’t want to have to listen to some
tit that sounds like a Sofie Hagen podcast whinging on for hours I really just want to see Big shag his way around his office and Miranda’s life development soz
