Self-Isolation... How will you stay sane?

If you’re feeling healthy and don’t show any signs of illness, are you planning to self isolate?

I’m just wondering what people are doing and when they’re deciding to go into self imposed lockdown 🤷‍♀️

Tbh as a single gal i'm of the opinion if you have;

- a smart phone
- netflix
- tasty food in the freezer or cupboard
- good supply of beverages of choice
- a decent vibrator (mains charged ofc, can't be running out of batteries)

You've cracked it.

I'm not self isolating really yet - only really going to the empty shops and dogwalking. Tbf that is my life usually but without the stress.
I just feel it is a matter of time before it happens - wierdly it feels almost socially unacceptable to go out and have 'fun'. Very strange times indeed.

Nah. I think if you're absolutely fine you should continue as normal but just be mindful of crowded areas and make wise choices.

Pretty much everyone is going to get it at some point so just make sure you're prepared for when that happens.

How long would people self-isolate for in that case?
2-4 years 🤷‍♀️
I’ve passed an area on my way home that would usually have a nearly full car park due to restaurants, cinema, shops etc.
It was close to empty.
That’s not all people with flu like symptoms, it’s people choosing to stay at home.

FOREVEEEEEER 😂
if I was an influencer I’d reply something embarrassing like
“the dream🤣🤣🤣

I’m a stay at home mum with a 2 year old and we do spend ALOT of time at home anyway so I feel like I will just about stay sane, but having my partner at home for 2 weeks pfttt another sorry 🤣 (joking really, honest!)
I will probably try and make time go quickly by cleaning and sorting and organising, I’m pregnant and have loads of my sons clothes and toys to sort through so that should keep me occupied... 2 year old has loads of toys and crafty bits. Only in a small flat so bound to get cabin fever at some point tho

Edit: thought of some more.. read all the Harry potters, also tempted to buy some paint for our bedroom, give my partner something to do Hahhaa

Choosing to stay home and self-isolation are quite different though. I’ve definitely changed how much I’m going out (cinema, eating out etc) but I’m not ‘self isolating’.

There was someone on the radio today burbling on about looking at self-isolation as a reason for lots of self care. Fair enough if you can, but she was suggesting going and sitting in your garden and eating lots of healthy food. Obviously not everyone has a garden, and if the shop last night was anything to go by healthy fresh food is in short supply.

I think some people are going to self isolate far too early and when things do get bad everyone will be fed up.

Lets face it we're all going to have to emerge from our caves after about 2 weeks and go have fight with Debs from down the road over the last kleenex box in Asda.

Eurgh we might have to start self isolating sooner than I thought, the eldest has come home.from.school with a cough and snotty 🙈 no temperature though.
I completely forgot about what to do with the children whilst in isolation 😂
Can I just chuck play doh and iPads at them and continue with my pirate drinking plan do you think?!

This is a massive worry for me. I’m a stay at home mum with a very active 2 year old who loves to be busy (especially outdoors). We spend our days in parks, going swimming, going to playgroups, soft play or on play dates with friends. He doesn’t really enjoy playing with toys/and will only really spend about 10 minutes watching tv before he gets bored and wants to be doing something. I have no idea how I’ll stay sane.

I wish this had all happened before I had a baby! I would have loved two weeks of chilling at home watching Netflix!

It’s actually the dream, for me. Not going out and nobody coming to visit! I’ll have no problem filling my time.

I haven’t been stockpiling. Just bought a few extra cupboard and freezer bits. Was thinking I better get some extra cat litter though. Definitely can’t do without that!
