Scented Candles

Hi all,

I'm looking for suggestions on reasonably priced scented candles that actually smell!

Thank you.

Hi,
I would recommend Better Homes and Gardens jar candles, if you ever spot them.
I think they're a Walmart own brand, and made in the USA.
I'm in Ireland and they're sometimes on sale in Eurogiant, which is kind of like Poundland.
A big jar is only 5 Euro.
Warm Autumn Sweater, is my favourite of theirs, I think it's a dupe of Yankee Candles Cozy Sweater, the scent is lovely and did last:

I have found some mid-range candles that are pretty good (all Irish companies).

Lovato Candles - Often has half-price sales and also offers €10 off when you sign up to the mailing list. I've tried the Rocksalt & Driftwood and Black Raspberry & Peppercorn. I liked both.

Crop Candles (various stockists) & La Bougie - I've been buying these for a few years now. The La Bougie Honeysuckle & Sea Salt is a fave.

I like wood wick candles. They’re often on sale on Amazon or in Boots.

Thank you for the links!

Yes, La Bougie candles... saw them around in a couple of shops. They smell absolutely amazing! Quite expensive, but they seem to be worth the price. I just looked at their website - I didn't even know they also have fragrances, linen sprays etc...

TK Maxx has some decent candles, but they all smell the same in my opinion. I just bought one from Zara Home and it's not very potent at all which is kind of a rip off for the price.

@TheGlossy - Crop Candles are by the makers of La Bougie but are cheaper (they are €16). I've tried 'Grass' and 'Rain' and liked both. The Lovato candles I've tried were really nice and good value in the half-price sale. They seem to have these sales pretty frequently.

I once bought a 'tomato blossom' candle from H&M for €4.99 and loved it but then they never restocked 😔

I haven’t burned any of my candles for a long time. I Just tried P.F. Candle Co.’s Amber & Moss for the sake of this thread and it is perfuming the space nicely 🥰

Someone went incredibly wonky with their candle hobby and I am wowed by it:

On closer inspection what I was smelling was Green Tomato Leaf by Jo Malone. It’s a itty bitty tiny candle and was unlit! I have a strange sense of smell ! Anyway, this just goes to why I don’t burn them - lit candles are wasted on me.

Colony/ Wax Lyrical are decent. It also depends what your idea of reasonable is.

Bath and body works is the obvious ones. They sell them in next now but also a few sellling groups on Facebook.
Dw Homes candles in tk max can be good. Most I’ve had are fab but have had a couple of crappy ones.
yankee candles have a good throw. I prefer the plug in but if I’m given a candle for Christmas then I’ll gladly use it.
I haven’t used them but my aunty said that the Yankee lookalike from Aldi is good and makes her whole lounge smell good.

DW’s scents are so fun and comforting. I have a few — the birch & holly berry one and the caramel chocolate are my favorites.

La Jolie Muse! I bought it on Amazon. They have a wood wick. I have the 19 oz Wild rose burning right now and I can smell it all throughout the house. It's a soy candle. Very beautiful packaging. Pricey but worth it. First candle I've had in ages that actually has a decent throw.
