I decided to switch to Mounjaro, filled out the MedExpress consult/questionaire and it sent me to the check out. Two hours later I had an email confirming the prescription and a Royal Mail tracking number - arrives today.I did not have to submit photos etc - Is this normal?!
I was expecting to submit pics and for the obtaining of the jab to be lengthly......

I ordered from IQ Doctor on Tuesday evening and my order was approved really quickly but it’s been sat at “order assembly” since then 😭 I have my last 2.5mg shot to do tonight and if push comes to shove I could try and get the tit shot out next week but I really want to move up.

You’ll be okay delaying it a few days if needs be, I had to do that with my 5 due to delays.

I sent a message yesterday and got an email pretty much straight back just to say that they’re “dealing with a slight backlog” so I’ll maybe wait until Monday and then try phoning them.

Thank you everyone for your responses, first time ordering with them so wasn’t sure if it was normal to wait a while between approval and dispatch 🥰

I asked about this in previous threads but I am getting close to having a total hysterectomy in a few weeks (open surgery) and just wanted any advice from anybody who might have had one while taking MJ.

The doctors have said I can continue taking it but I have said I will miss it out the week of my op as it’s due 2 days before. But I’m unsure on when to restart and don’t want to leave it too long without it but I know it will all depend on my recovery afterward.

Mostly I’m worried how I will cope afterwards with 💩 situation. As both will cause issues! As well as HRT being thrown into the mix. Told my hubby to get himself a crash helmet as we are in for a rough ride!!

Can't believe they've said to take a normal
My anethetist said they require people to have been off or at least 2 weeks otherwise the delayed stomach emptying can make the risk of aspiration much
Happily, I'd not taken for for 2 weeks to to being ill so I was fine (even tho the surgery was 24hrs notice)

Personally I'd see how you feel and start taking once well again. Due to my body struggling a bit I had to under consultants advise wait until I was fully recovered whuch ended up being 8 weeks post surgery (so I had ten weeks off)

The 💩 situation was one of the reasons I had to wait. I'd been incredibly constipated pre surgery (went 2 weeks without going). It wasn't the MJ but a ovarian cyst pressing on my kidneys and bowel preventing any solids passing.
It took me six weeks to get back to normal, but I'd assume you'd not suffer that.

The main reason I was advised to hold off was I was very anemic post surgery and absolutely exhausted and was advised to hold off to focus on getting well and eating enough to recover. I was also taking a massive amount of med, Iron and Folic acid, Vit K (as blood wasn't clotting preoply, 3 lots of AB 2 of which were 3 times a day, and 1 twice a day all of which knocked me for 6 and I don't think I'd have wanted to start again.

You should be fine and I'm just a disaster, but I'm so glad I did hold off, I was tired, grumpy, bleeding randomly and no being able to eat was the last thing on my mind

@MustardCactus couldn't reply to you as last thread closed but I am at the end of week 2 of 7.5mg and let me tell you I absolutely love it! No side effects and large suppression. My weight loss has also upped a bit! Hope it is good for you too.

A friend of mine is having massive open surgery to repair an issue arising from previous surgery, and has lost almost four stone. Her consultant said to stop for at least two weeks before the op. And what's more, she's getting a tummy tuck out of it!

Can I just ask about what you all mean by a whoosh please? I need to recognise it if I have one 😁

It's a nickname term for a big drop of the scales - normally preceded by a gain or maintain caused by your body holding water for whatever reason, which is the finally released

Random question after this talk of surgery. I’m going for lens replacement surgery and didn’t own up to being on MJ. I can’t see why it would be a problem and I know I need to own up at my next consultation but anybody got any experience of this?

When I went for my pre-op they said not to take in the 2 days before the op. But I’m not comfy with that at all, as I’m already struggling with constipation so bad on 5mg. I’m now contemplating holding off starting the new pen, as I’m due to start a new pen next week but I may just leave it for after my surgery as the MJ stays in the system for 30 days decreasing in strength doesn’t it?

Yep, half like drops every 5 days. Last thing you want is to get there and them not pre prepared to do the surgery.

Ah this is good thank you for sharing! I’m hoping it kick starts my losses a bit as I’ve been 1lb a week for ages, which I guess is fine but would be nice if it was more 2lb a week. I only have 14-20ish lbs to lose until my goal now, depending on what I decide on 🙏🏻
