Thanks for the new thread! ❤

NSV yesterday - I had a parents event thing to attend yesterday morning at my children’s school and when I was saying hi to the headteacher she did a bit of a double take and told me I was looking great. It took me by surprise really, the only comments I’ve heard have been from family and close friends. Also had to have my picture taken with my son at said school event which was then posted on the school app - and I didn’t hate it! Normally I’d be like 😬 at any photos especially ones outwith my control but this time I wasn’t ashamed by how I looked.

I’ve been doing more strength training/weights daily as I’ve got some loose skin in places that’s annoying me (upper arms particularly) and my arse is a pancake now. 😩 I’m signed up to do the 100 Squats Every Day in February challenge for Cancer Research so hopefully that will help tone things up a bit. 😂 🙏🏻

I’ve also decided I’m moving up to 12.5 on my next pen, I’ve done 3 months on 10 and I feel it’s starting to lose its effect. I’ve stalled on the scale, no gains thankfully. Tbf this is the longest I’ve stayed on a dose - max has been two pens. I don’t have much more to lose but don’t want it grinding to a halt now as I’ve still got one foot in the obese category for my height. I know BMI isn’t everything but I’m determined.

Just done my second jab. I felt so woozy when I did the first one but I think it was because I was so anxious. Was completely chilled and fine this time!

I still feel nothing 1 week in on 1mg of Wegovy. I'd even love to have my old friend :poop: :poop: :poop: back at this stage.

My first order via MedExpress 2.5mg Mounjaro has finally been prescribed - ordered on Saturday morning.
3 head to toe photos later they finally got their act together and accepted my order. Thankfully i had a bit of a drama yesterday - a very expensive jumper was shrunk at the dry cleaner; i was photographing myself wearing it so that i could storm in there with my compo face, asking for my £250 back and when i looked at the photo, i thought: perfect - that'll do for MedExpress. i literally look like i'm bursting out of my clothes!!

Blue light card discount available on MedExpress valid until 31/01; i shared it in the last thread (not a referral code).

Sorry, just reposting my post from the previous thread as I didn’t spot that it was about to restart!

I’m finally pondering Mounjaro. I’ve been 3-4st overweight for ages and have improved my diet a lot but being menopausal and finding it nearly impossible to shift the weight. I feel like I’m on a diet constantly and it’s so draining. The other issue is that part of my problem is that I like a drink (not to alcoholic levels but more than I should) and I’ve read that Mounjaro can help reduce desire for alcohol too.

I‘ve just started reading up on everything so watching these thread with interest.

Just to add, has anyone else found that its helped weight loss by limiting drinking?

Uuuggghhh.

I took my first 2.5 yesterday. I’ve just got home from work to find my lovely brother has sent me a birthday present of half a dozen giant assorted brownies! I was a bit hungry having not eaten in about 6 hours so I decided to have one. And now I feel sick 🤢

This jab is definitely curbing my sweet tooth. I’ve not wanted anything sweet since I started.

Just FYI brownies freeze really well! Wrap in cling film and then foil and they will be good. My dd got sent a load just before Xmas from a family member so I cut them into quarters and froze them.

Same with me. I've still got chocolate left over from Christmas. This is unheard of. Normally mine is gone in days and my family get 2 weeks to eat theirs or its fair game.

I've been sooo hungry today! Like one of those days where you could eat all day long. I'm hoping it's just a blip, Jag day is Saturday so I should still be feeling the effects. I'm using a lot of will power not to reach for the snacks.

I've had 2 protein bars (400cal), a banana (100), a thin with chicken tikka (200) mini cheddars (100), apple (80), jacket potato with salad and chilli (500ish). 2.4 litres of water., a diet coke and black coffee. That's way more than I have been eating!

Alcohol is pretty calorific so if regular removing those calories will probably likely put you in a deficit and you'll lose, plus it also removes the sensible head and you'll be more likely to thick duck it and open a packet kettle chips with your alcohol

Some people find they can't drink at all due to side efffects, wheras others can but don't want to as much (so can still drink on a night out but don't much otherwise)

I can tolerate alcohol but as MJ kills me any dopamine response I don't really get any enjoyment from it so don't bother. Same as all food I suppose.
