The way they could’ve protected this kid from speculation and protected him from labels, would’ve been to shut the duck up and say absolutely nothing about it. I get that she was sad, but you can be sad in private. Already monetising videos, baiting, half saying things, letting everyone know that he has some abnormalities... all because she can’t keep tit to herself in order to protect him. I for one am not going to speculate but it’s not thanks to his mum
You’re so right. We wouldn’t know any different if she did in fact want to “protect her child” and didn’t blast this all over the internet.

Got a lot to catch up on still as I've just woken up but my fave parts of the video were:
"I was less worried this time because we'd been praying over the baby" 🙄
She will absolutely use this to transition to Christian influencer, she mentioned worship and praying so so much.

Another hightlight from Kurt "for 2 weeks Sarah did no work, she wasn't even on social media" well she definitely WAS on social media, she was off her phone for 6 hours. And also Sarah didn't work for 2 weeks suddenly? What about all her PROJEDKTS, I swear she's the busy person in the world 🙄

While I sympathise with her and understand how hard this all would be, it still doesn't all sit right. I still found her story telling and voice a bit performative and whilst she has chosen to not disclose the specifics of the health condition, due to her past actions and who she is, it feels like this is a great opportunity to save her failing channel. I just cant imagine her not monetising of this, she already has from the get go. While it is a sensitive topic and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone, I just don't think she has handled this correctly at all.

For someone so insistent on "protecting" her baby. Real protection would have been taking a break from her instagram with one story alone, and coming back when she was ready without mentioning it. Now people will speculate and pin point what it is, and it that may define him, although she didn't want to do that.
I agree. I also think the fact that she’s monetized the video and posted the video in between the Whitefox ads/sale just seems to me like she’s trying to boost sales.

Also IF they baby is going to be born with health defects then it's likely to require more care than a regular newborn. SO why are they waiting till the babies born to move Fox to a new room?! Why do they make their lives harder

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the doctor suggesting abortion. I’m aware that doctors are probably somewhat desensitised because they go through this everyday. I’m assuming he told her in a way that wasn’t as sensitive as it should have been given her situation. I feel horrible saying this but I think I would have heavily considered not keeping the baby so I would have wanted a doctor to be upfront about the condition.

Also I think Sarah said it had nothing to do with what her and Kurt had done because it is not genetic. And I think in a situation like this parents try to find some sort of meaning to not blame themselves. Anyways I’m not the biggest fan of Sarah but I feel sorry for their baby. Hopefully his condition is mild and that he can live a long and healthy life.

Without trying to moderate, I feel like we really should still focus on calling her out on her BS instead of pitying her. Yes the situation is unfortunate, but she still baited, hyped it up, even manipulated her audience to take her side and garner sympathy even before the video was published, “the haters will have a field day”, “if you follow me for the right reasons, you’d understand”.

With that in mind, my suggestion for the next thread title-
Sarah’s Day #38 Sarah is anti-vax

Not watching the video, but was curious to see if she has monetised it so clicked to YT. Yep, added ads to the start. You can actually turn them off. You'd think for something "not made for entertainment" (her words) and wanting to be raw and real you'd turn the ads off? Plenty of people do it when they want to be serious
Exactly. This video could’ve been filmed as a clip and inserted at the beginning of her next vlog but by making it a separate video she makes more $$.

I hope this experience opens her eyes to the world of health conditions and western medicine and both Fox and this unborn are given more privacy.

I feel so sorry for Fox, he needs to start going to day care/nursery and toddler classes so he has interaction with other children and can learn. Although lockdown has lifted, if they haven’t been jabbed they won’t send Fox anywhere with the risk of him bringing anything home. It’s so sad

Weird. For all that researching, she didn’t stumble upon how genetics work? You don’t get to pick and choose any of the genes your children are born with, but they still come directly from the parents. I wonder why she felt like she had to clarify that it wasn’t anyones “fault”.

ETA: I haven’t watched the videoso just picking up everything from what is said here and I just read that she said it’s not a genetic issue but could be chromosomal? Regardless, it’s weird to focus on who’s fault it is. I also wonder if it was a genetic issue and say it comes from Kurt’s side of the family, would she have blamed him?? Crazy to think. It’s almost like this unborn baby has already become a commodity.
this is rude. i’ve had 2miscarriages and to say the genetic issue that caused the miscarriages was the parents fault are just wrong and rude. how dare you?

The fact she did the classic influencer move of all lower case in the video title was the only red flag I needed

For real, I really hope they’ll have better structures in place to look after Fox other than just dropping him off to her mum’s. These kinds of things affect the whole family, not just the one who is suffering. I experienced a similar situation when I was younger after my brother was born with several health issues, my parents were constantly busy with him as a result of which I was often neglected. In the end, I had to learn to be independent and fend for myself at a younger age, something I wouldn’t wish upon anyone.
I hope at the very least they’ll sit him down and explain the situation with his future sibling when the time is right. Going from being a only child to being the oldest is difficult, especially with a special needs child that needs greater support. With Fox’s separation anxiety, I could really see them struggle if they don’t put the structures in place now.

I’m guessing the potential name could have been George/Turner/Edward/Jacob? I can’t think of any other reason that the ‘situation’ would affect the name.
Long time lurker 👀 first time poster

Just wanted to say because I haven't seen it mentioned that I highly doubt this is the case. Who in the world would name one of their children Fox Ocean, and the other something as traditional as George/Turner/Edward/Jacob?

Also Fox doesn’t seem to have much interaction with other kids his age (or any for that matter), which (and I’m not a professional or a parent) seems like something so important to his development.

Obviously can’t say he definitely doesn’t see / interact with other kids but this is based of
1) I think Sarah would post about it
2) Sarah only hangs out with her close family and none of them (except Kate and Kyle) have kids
3) She’s mentioned multiple times (such as in her Easter vlog) none of her friends have kids and she feels isolated because she’s not friends with anyone with kids

Obviously if she doesn’t have friends/family with kids fox’s age that’s whatever, but she doesn’t seem to go to any effort to put him in social situations. The only time she ever mentioned anything was his swimming lessons and I’m pretty sure he stopped doing them after he got sick (which was defs Rhinovirus)

I personally don’t think any doctor “told her to abort” this pregnancy. Like my original guess, she had an abnormal NIPT result and they ran through what that might mean and potential options and it was cleared up when they had the amino but they’re just dragging it out for content, hence why she got so happy and manic around the time they received the amnio results.

You know I would typically be thinking that at least they have the financial resources to provide the best of care if the baby does have high needs.

However (and not knowing his condition), Sarah’s aversion to western medicine is a red flag in this instance.

This is not an opportunity to outsmart doctors or to make out that your the smartest human to ever live.

My heart goes out to them as it would for anyone going through this.
But for this child’s emotional and physically wellbeing, I also hope they undergo some significant growth themselves.

This video was really hard but interesting to watch. I experienced a very similar thing earlier this year. I was delivered the results, and was given a few options. I can confirm that some doctors do recommend termination. My pregnancy ended in miscarriage.

I have to admire their strength, and that they’ve decided to go against what that one specialist suggested and do everything they can to give their baby a great life.

I don’t want to moderate AT ALL because you guys are bleeping awesome and everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I hope that it is understood that unless you go through something like that, you have no idea how it feel, how you would act or what you would do.

Xx

ETA: I saw someone mention that Sarah highlighted that “it’s nothing Kurt or I did” that caused it. It may seem odd to some of you that she said it, but when you hear or read this info, it is comforting in a weird way.
