Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively #4 Bleak Lively and Cryin' Reynolds

Ryan’s the one with the Hollywood power and the money (I can’t really comprehend why, but there we are). In reality, he stands to lose considerably more than she does from this fiasco. Considerably more. So I can see why he’d be struggling with it. Even if his hands are all over it.
They both thought JB would simply roll over. They never considered it would become a big case like this. Ego got the better of them imo.

Not at all. Fighting a subpoena is a standard answer to being served with one - the fact Stephanie Jones didn't isn't the outlier. Even if a subpoena is righteous, you still fight it, because no one should hand in private or sensitive information without at least arguing its validity, purpose and scope first.
I mean sure, some people fight subpoenas but acting like that’s the default move feels like a stretch to me. Saying it’s ‘standard’ to fight one is kinda like saying it’s ‘standard’ to contest a parking ticket...people can, but most just pay it or comply. I bet most folks only push back if there’s a legit reason like privacy issues or overreach. It’s not like everyone automatically goes, ‘I gotta lawyer up!’ the second they get served.

For sure, Blake and Disckpool are the type of people to think that someone who is nice is stupid and it's easy to use and abuse them. They never expect a nice guy to fight back... I hate that this happened to JB but man if this didn't get exposed now just think how many other people and projects these two would steal, make big bucks off and keep lining their pockets at the expense of others, this would go on for years till they retired.

Companies the size of Marvel are always involved in litigation of some kind. If they gave in to every request for a subpoena or deposition, their legal team would never have time for anything else.

If we want to stay on the parking ticket comparison, it's standard procedure for all companies involved in transportation and delivery to contest parking tickets because they get so many and it costs nothing to fight them. I should know, writing those letters was one of my first jobs.

Ryan is the one who has to be worried about the Marvel subpoena. By all accounts, they were uncharacteristically hands-off with the Deadpool/Wolverine production and largely let Ryan and Shawn Levy run the show. If it turns out that Ryan was making decisions that connect the Marvel brand, however tangentially, to a high-profile lawsuit that there is no reason for them to have anything to do with, they may not be so accommodating the next time Ryan wants to visit the Deadpool well.

Good point about Marvel, they probably face routine legal stuff considering their scale. Also I appreciate the parking ticket context, thank you for sharing that!

I hope Ryan is worried, his ego is bigger than his talent, I can't wait for everything he is and is doing to catch up to him.

The cracks are already showing, their masks are slipping off. Did you see how weird they acted and how pissed off they were at/around each other when they attented ASF press things together?

Ha yes! He looked drunk and she kept slapping his back in some of the clips I saw, what a :poop: show! Also his tan is reaching radioactive levels, we finally started watching the Chernobyl show and he popped into my mind a few times.

OT but what a show! I rewatched it last year and was still as brilliant, second time round.

Levels of acting that these two wish they could achieve 😁

I'm blown away by it, Jared Harris is amazing in the show as always, just finished watching both seasons of Foundation that he was in as well, Blake and Ryan wish they had 1% of that talent, also he's so funny and normal during interviews really engaging with the journalists, something they clearly can't get a grasp on either with their insane egos.

According to a blind item Plantation Barbie didn't want to go to the Met Gala because didn't like the theme but I think Anna just didn't invite her and it's embarrassing to buy your own ticket so she's trying to spin it as if it's because of the lawsuit but we all know she LOVES attention so that's definitely not true.
Thoughts?

(the outfits were soooo boring this year it's not even worth talking about apart from Lisa having faces on her p*ssy lmao / OT)

Based on the theme and her racist history she would have been a complete idiot to even consider the idea, I think pre baldoni she would have but under the current scrutiny she wouldn’t never dare.

Yep and their ego won’t let them back down now either. I really hope this is career ending for both of them.

Just seen that Justin and Steve Sarowitz are having to shut down their charity Wayfarer Foundation because of what's going on. It's bullshit that they and others were actually trying to do good and now it's fucked because of her and her lies while she bullshits and gets awards. I can't wait for karma to kick her and everyone who helped square in the arse.

It's so terrible and then you have Blake pontificating on camera any chance she gets that she's fighting for girls and women, trying to make a batter world for them, while a foundation that actually helps got killed thanks to her.

I keep thinking about Blake, because the whole thing is just so absolutely disgusting, if she laid low and was humble with her pursuit of destruction it might work in her favor but her trying to make herself as some martyr and the best human ever out there is not a good move, hopefully that will help topple her empire to the ground, where it belongs.

She is loving all the attention, it’s the most she has ever had as herself not when promoting a movie or as RR’s wife. If she loses this case she won’t be paying R will, her career is over and I don’t think she is bright enough to realise it. Maybe she could bring out a floral fashion line.

Yeah Ryan has loads of businesses, that's why he's worth so much. It's not that much from his hollywood career apparently but from all his side businesses. I think he's quite business savvy. At least, that's what people who understand more about the business side of hollywood and people like Ryan are saying and it makes sense.
Blake herself doesn't bring in a lot of money and her businesses aren't doing well/getting good reviews. She doesn't have much going for her and her potential future projects are set to fail as well because people don't want to watch nor buy what's she's selling.
No wonder Ryan isn't looking great these days with everything having above his head.

Lol I don't believe that at all. Her Neyo cosplay in her new film wouldn't have been that far off theme.

I watched Another Simple Favor last night. I was fully prepared for frothy nonsense. When done well it’s very enjoyable!

I thought the first 40 minutes or so was fairly enjoyable, but the movie really is just so stupid. Nothing has any impact or meaning if people are dying every 5 minutes. Blake’s costumes are ridiculous and I wondered if she’d styled herself 🙈
