It’s because Jade is into it and Ruby recently went on a ’tech-free’ gifted weekend with her. To be fair, if I was stuck with Jade for a weekend I would also be looking for poison.

I disagree. So many people in their 20's are finding it impossible to move out with cost of living and unaffordable housing. I know many university students continuing to live with their flatmates post-graduation purely to afford not moving back in with their parents. And not everyone has partners to move in with (breakups, single, many reasons). I wouldn't say in this decade the expectation to move out at a certain age is the same as it used to be. I say that broadly, as obviously Ruby isn't a fresh graduate anymore and does have money to move out if she chose to.
I think the main trouble with Ruby is the not-so perfect Oxford experience probably threw her off a linear trajectory for pursuing her PhD, and now she's ruminating and panicking about committing to anything else if it goes badly. She's regressed back to comfort: home and family, and while that is common for many people in the country for financial reasons, she has let it keep her in the early 20's mindset of the family home always being their for her. She probably wouldn't do well living alone, so a friend or friends would be the next best option to move out of her parents' house.

Yes, looking through the guest speaker list for the past four years genuinely made me laugh. Some highlights include:
. The president of Liberland (A self-dubbed 'microcountry' made up of Soverign citizens) and also their state secretary, who happen to be the only permanent citzens of Liberland.
. A world famous actor who has a grand total of 15 instragram followers.
. The CEO of a 'company' that upon googling just sells spiced rice from a street corner cart in Mumbai.
. A film agent for porn stars
. A 'supermodel' with 800 instagram followers.
I think this is just one of those pay-to-win award things just so you can say on your website and resume that you are an award winner. The awards titles are extremely disjointed and random to the point the 'award winners' themselves must be writing them.
. Best woman entrepeneur in suppliment education (Wtf does that even mean?)
. Best international road traveller and road trip consultant.
. Rising guitarist of the year
. Global visionary in cultural influence and fashion.
. Best International fashion icon.
. Outstanding leader in leadership award

Also worth noting when they say the 15th conference, they have done six others this year. This is actually embarrassing for Keble.

I have to admit I was a bit like Ruby - I loved school, stationery, solitude, being home etc. Looking back, I think I behaved like this to “keep things in order.” My family had their own issues which caused a massive stress to me, so having good grades, tidy room and not making my family angry were my coping mechanisms, which helped me retain a little bit of order in my life.
I had been looking forward to moving away from home for years, but hardly anything changed when I finally moved to university. I still didn’t dare to socialize or go to parties, fearing this would worsen the situation at home. Weekends at home every two weeks were exhausting, but visting less frequently was even worse as my family’s decline would be even more obvious.
My first job after university saved me. I went from hiding in my dorm to working in ER. There I had to talk to people, examine them, deal with agitated, psychotic, panicked patients… I finally had to stand up for myself, tell people they’re wrong sometimes… I was not allowed to do this at home.
My family still have their problems, but my job has given me a sense of self-worth, a place in society and financial independence.
I hope Ruby at least tries to have a serious job and stops living in her imagination.

Starts doing pointless busy work that has nothing to do with anything while it is pitch black outside and everyone else is sleeping peacefully.
Exhausted, but keeps pushing herself over the edge with various odd study projects that she doesn't even need to do.
But she can't work a job because it stresses her out.
About a million red flags here that she is way over her head in psychiatric disorders.
This isn't about perfection. It is about obsession, anxiety, stress, avoidance, desperate need for validation.
Ruby is really sinking.
The claw is back in full force!

There are so many free online university courses she can do “for fun” with at least partially legitimate deadlines.
The self-created “modules” with the play-pretend deadlines (“Work should be printed and filed in folder by end of the week, 17:00 GMT Friday”) into a play-pretend binder feel so bizarre to me. I’m surprised she isn’t pretending her mom is the professor and “submitting” her printed “essays” to her parents by 17:00 GMT Friday…It really reminds me of the way primary school children play-pretend

My favourite part of the new video is Ruby acting inconsolable that the audio for the tea judging event was messed up, blubbering apologetically over how bad it sounds, and then the audio sounds about as good as every sponsored video she ever proudly uploads. They all sound this bad, Rubert, it's never bothered you before!
She also mentions that she's "doing tutoring" (or "deeing cheetering") and I hope for the sake of some poor kid's education/sanity that's just more of her usual bullshit. "Ruby Granger is tutoring my child" is a one-sentence horror story.
