I've been following this for a few weeks. It started when his former manager whose represented him since 2014 publicly said she was planning to sue him for $2 million that she claims he owes her. She said that when she first agreed to work for him his personal and professional life was in turmoil and she turned both around. She also claimed she had a secret about him that if made public would absolutely end his career. Two weeks later he was served with a restraining order alleged domestic assault but the identity of the person who issued it was kept private other than confirmation that it was not his husband. Latin gossip outlets were very quick to report that it was his nephew that issued the restraining order and that they'd had a seven month affair. and when it was broken off Ricky repeatedly showed up at his house unwanted and got into a physical altercation with him. This seems to now be confirmed as they are fast tracking to trial.
To put some further details out there the nephew in question is his sister in law's son so not related by blood and he is in his early twenties and so far no suggestion anything happened between while he was underage. I don't know the incest laws in Puerto Rico but even if there was a relationship I imagine it's not illegal even if many (including myself) find it morally very dodgy. I don't know were this 50 years sentence come from since the charges are about the domestic assault unless there are more charges that aren't being reported on.
Obviously Ricky has issued a statement denying all of this. His brother has been on instagram lives saying that the nephew suffers from severe mental health problems and has been estranged from the family for a while and even went missing with Ricky helping to look for him. He also says he's being taken advantage of by people to make these false claims. Ricky's husband also seems to be standing by him.
Personally I'm keeping an open mind on this. Given how close the trial is we'll see what evidence there is for this either way.

Lets have a trial by a Jury, not the media.
I think there's more to it than just an adopted nephew with mental health issues with all the stuff hinted from the ex manager.

It's interesting that blinds about Ricky Martin make him out as someone who's guilty and basically paid people vast sums of cash to back him to make the problem go away.
