Definitely go with a practicing surgeon, if you can. They are very up to date with their professional development. As opposed to someone who just does variety of plastic surgeries and isn’t a specialist. I went with a practicing NHS surgeon who was specialist in reconstructive facial surgery for mine. He does cosmetic facial surgery on the side with a private hospital. He was very realistic and very honest which was essential for me. He didn’t over exaggerate my results they are subtle and natural enough so that people wouldn’t assume I’d had surgery. Which was my desired result.
It’s not half as bad a recovery as what I anticipated. Next to no pain other than a headache which was eased with paracetemol. Luckily that’s all I had to take. Sleeping was probably the worst bit but I got a pillow wedge that allowed me to sleep comfortably upright. Get prepared and get a pillow like this it really helps. Also my cast was very very itchy and this nearly drove me insane but not at all painful. It just got hot quite easily being where it was so I think that caused a lot of it. Maybe get a handheld fan that will blow air down your cast? If I had it again I’d 110% do this!
In terms of post cast removal, it will be very strange you’ll feel really aware of your nose. I had mine done just over a year ago and I am still anxious of my nose getting knocked or hit and only now have I got full sensation back in the tip of my nose. It can take up to a year to heal so this is normal. Get it done though, it changed my life! Feel so much happier.

I’d second seeing a specialist. My sister had hers done recently and had a few online consultations - MYA and Transform both told her to go on insta and pick out examples of noses that she liked... when she saw the surgeon she eventually went with, he said a good surgeon wouldn’t advise to do that because your results will depend on your current nose, the type of surgery (open or closed) you choose etc

I had a boob job with MYA years ago and although it was fine at the time, I’ve had them re done elsewhere since. It’s very celebrity endorsed and you only actually meet your surgeon once before your surgery.

I think there is a similar thread on this already as I remember posting before!

I have had a rhinoplasty since any questions just ask. I’m glad I did it, it changed my life and I gained so much confidence. Looking back, it wasn’t that bad and I probably needed to work on my internal confidence first. Prepare yourself that it will not be perfect and you will still find things you hate about it afterwards, you can then end up in a spiral of having another and another and another. I want a revision but know that what I have now is better than what I could end up with.

My advice would be to see Lucian Ion. In my opinion he is the best in the UK and avoid frati/Hassan as they do very “commercial” noses (not what I personally like). I wish I had left it longer before booking surgery and did more research also. When you think you’re ready, wait another 6 months and do even more research.

I've always wanted a nose job as I broke it as a child and my parents couldn't afford to have it fixed. But the older I get the more I've come to terms with it. I would still like it to be straight but I guess it's what makes me, me.

Like somebody else mentioned you really have to think this through because some people don't know when to stop as they expect "perfect" results when in fact nothing will ever feel perfect

No, but my friend had it done in Turkey by an incredible surgeon, she really recommends him!

His name is @drsuleymantas on Instagram.

If I ever find the balls to get it done, I’d pick him definitely

I would definitely recommend going to an ENT (or plastic surgeon) who specialises in rhinoplasty + septoplasty.

I haven't had any experience with them, but personally I'd avoid places like Transform, Harley Medical Group, MYA etc - just because I feel like (from what I've heard) you don't have much say in your surgeon + a lot of them perform a wide range of surgeries each year. So they might recommend a surgeon, but they may not have necessarily done a rhinoplasty in that year and have mostly performed boob jobs or something. I've also seen horror stories about Transform specifically, where they've end up with a very 'cookie cutter' nose, or still had issues with it after (like them not fixing a deviated septum, or it basically collapsing). I remember reading an article on their surgeons being sued as they often fly them in from abroad, and them not getting aftercare or compensation they were entitled to because of it.

I'd suggest looking at your local Spire or Nuffield Health hospital to see what surgeons they have there. It is a bit more expensive than the more commercial places I think, but you can still do a payment plan.
