I had the Revlon One Step Hair dryer, and it gives me a bouncy look, rather than the straight hair I really prefer. My preference is to use straighteners but I do sometimes use this for a change, and I often get compliments if I use the Revlon rather than straighteners. However using it as a hairdryer is a no no for me, it takes too long to dry. What I do is keep a towel on my hair 10 mins after washing, use a regular hairdryer to get it 80% dry and then use the styler. I found the original one to be too bulky and big for my hair, and quite heavy too, particularly if you are going to use it as a hairdryer, rather than a seperate styler once you have used a hairdryer. Just like with straighteners, I use a thermo protector before using the heat appliances.
The reason I have revived this thread, I bought the smaller version of this today. It is fairly new, and 30 per cent smaller than the original and much lighter, and operates in exactly the same way as the bigger one. Because it is still fairly new, it is pricey but the price seems to be slowly coming down, and it is suitable for short to shoulder length (according to them). My hair is shoulder length so can’t comment on use on short hair, but it is much better for me than the original size, easier to use because of the reduced barrel size and because it isn’t as heavy.
Thought I would update in case there was a lack of awareness that there are two sizes now. If your hair is long, obviously the original is best, but shoulder length hair will do better with the newer smaller model.
