If I was an influencer I'd read here. I wouldn't be able to resist.Fairly sure we're being watched here folks, though that's Common knowledge but certain now..interesting that a comment of mine stating that I know the girls personally has been liked twice in the last three days on the old thread... No posts/scores on the accounts... Hmm.... I won't give away names incase I get banned but too much of a coincidence
In my opinion the critique and discussion here is usually as applicable to the industry in general as it is to the individual in question. Personally I'm frustrated by the growth in the industry and what it tells us about the way society has gone and how commercialism and bandwagonism and disposability and tokenism are just rife, and I see women like the Foxes as symptoms of that whole problem (that came out harsher than I meant but I can't think of a way to rephrase without watering it down too much!), and as such I don't feel there's much said here that crosses the line into personal insult, trolling, any kind of abuse etc.
I genuinely think a lot of influencers could learn something by taking note of what's discussed on these threads rather than being sucked into the echo chamber of Insta.
A lot of them are going to get some land when the bubble bursts - and realistically we have to be in the last 3-5 years of the whole cycle. I find the entire psychology of it abhorrent but with regard to Retro, she's smart to milk it with as many collaborations, collections etc as possible before the cow inevitably runs dry.
If she's very lucky, one of those collabs might stick and bring her into the next stage of her career.
