I’m unfollowing this entitled brat but I had to come on and rant before I do. Just watched part of her vlogmas video. Erica is choosing to go home for xmas knowing the rules and risks, but she thinks the travel ban that prevents her re-entering the US is “ridiculous”. She totally understands that “tourists” shouldn’t be allowed to enter and that “holidays” shouldn’t be allowed but she thinks she should be allowed to enter because of her visa.
Her trip home is a holiday! Holidays going out of the US aren’t any safer than holidays into the US! Nobody is supposed to be leaving the place they live right now, and she really shouldn’t be entering Ireland at the moment either (but is allowed to because she’s a citizen). So holidays to the US shouldn’t be allowed, but her holiday to Ireland is fine?!
I’m extra mad because I’m Irish living in Massachusetts and I was planning to go home for Christmas, including 2 weeks quarantine and all of the other precautions. I have a green card so I can get back into the US. But I cancelled it because cases are much higher now than they were when I booked it back in the summer, and I didn’t think it was right for me to travel at the moment. Even though I haven’t seen my family in over a year and a half now, and one brother for 3 years. And I can’t even complain much, I’m better off than a lot with all the people that have lost loved ones or been unemployed this year.

In regards to Erikas latest story which shows she reads here.. Erika first main job after graduating was given to her by her dad - working on her dad's company. I don't think people assume you get handouts, but yes your parents did help you get where you are in many ways. You are not exactly from an unprivileged background Erika. Far from it. Maybe if you didn't work for daddy's company, you could claim you didn't need that boost to get where you are. That helped surely.
If you wanted people to think you didn't come from an unprivileged background, don't put your mums designer clothes that you often wear on social media, or the fancy House which the banks should owe, or basically all the ways you're showing you're not the "typical" Irish family just about getting by right now. You're right though, your parents did show you how to work hard... Have you done anything in Ireland yet with the grant money that you received? About 20k? Yeah they showed you how to work hard...work the Irish system to get money you shouldn't more like it. Same as their fancy house which they should no longer owe.
Maybe you didn't have money when very young, but please don't put a post up claiming you got where you are without any help just to make yourself look good. I cannot stand that crap when it's so obviously false and undermines people that came from nothing to do well.

Kerry native born and bred - grew up with RTÉ 1 and network two. No fancy bbc, or American tv and you tube didn’t exist but she’s mom and always will be. I’m not changing who I am to suit some randomer on the net who doesn’t like how I talk

Christmas in New York is amazing, but she runs home to the back arse of Kerry to show videos of the overweight dog, walks on the beach, a trip to the Europe, a couple of Indian takeaways, and the sister decorating the tree? It'll be even worse this year content wise.

Guidelines are to avoid unnecessary travel. If everyone had your entitled mindset and that of hers, then the cases numbers will continue to escalate even more than they already have.
Even if she (or anyone) did return a positive test, she (or any international arrival) has already strolled through the airport arrival lounge, hung out at a rental car desk and potentially stopped in a shop for food / diesel - how many potential people have they put at risk? Never mind the idiots out there who chose to ignore all the guidelines!!
It's a different story if they were escorted off the plane, onto a bus on the tarmac and straight to a hotel for 2 weeks - managed properly & paying for it out of their own pocket.
Stop being part of the problem.

There is no way they are eating all that food. It’s all for the “gram” The mother survives on 40 major a day and cans of Coke. They are utterly obsessed and controlled over their food in NYC. Joey will need an extra seat on the flight back as he will be eating all the leftover Instagram food

I messaged her on this and she basically said it doesn’t apply to her as she can come longer than two weeks and basically said that the government aren’t correct in what they said and they should rephrase it and that she knows she’s being safe.... like I get wanting to be with your family, I think we all do, but can’t believe the delusion that you’d have to say that you’ve a better understanding than the government/CMO
