Hey, I hope this is okay to post.

I have a special birthday coming up and am wanting to book a nice meal (nothing extravagant)
the restaurants will be open by then, but I don't really go out for meals usually, other than to places like nando's or chiquitos or for a pub lunch so would really appreciate any of your recommendations of any chain restaurants you like or if you're local to the Birmingham area any independent restaurants you like?

I'm not one to go out for food so don't really know where to start!

Thanks in advance!

I tend to look up the area's restaurants on trip advisor and read the reviews for hours on end. They can be quite entertaining, especially when the managers reply back angry.

I live in Birmingham. Not far from the airport. Do you mean a meal in the City Centre or further out? I had a lovely meal at Bar & Block in the centre a while ago. There’s also a few places in The Cube or The Mailbox. Have a look on Groupon for some vouchers.
