Is it just me that doesn’t quite get it? I love some of the content but I only read it when I’ve followed a link to a thread over there, on my own I can’t navigate it and find it difficult to search or read it.

its just me isn’t it?........😂

I definitely think programmers deliberately make certain platforms, Reddit, Instagram, TikTok etc, to have features which make it difficult for people over a certain age to use 😂

I do use it from time to time, usually to get opinion or find stuff out after watching a film/TV show, but I've no idea how to go about making a thread myself. And yes I find it tricky to navigate too!

Have never taken to Reddit, especially its rather random navigation.

Some love it, but it doesn't do anything for me other than uttering a few choice words when I can't find what I want through the swathes of threads and posts

I'm obsessed with Reddit! You have to make an account and follow subs that you're interested in. I follow some of the subs about scary real-life encounters (Letsnotmeet and Creepyencounters are good), one called 'Am I the asshole' (users comment on a situation about who was in the wrong), and a few niche equestrian ones.

I find it's more like forums were back in the day, rather than social media. I preferred the Internet when it was all forum-based and that's why I like it. I feel like it's got an older crowd than most social media, too. God, I am sounding ancient. Bring back Ask Jeeves! :sneaky:

I agree it's kind of amazing for very very niche topics, so yeah, joining v specific forums is the way to go. Also love some of the dark confessional tit you can read on there, like parents regretting kids, or affairs, etc.

Letsnotmeet and creepyencounters sound fascinating, I will have to check them out!

There's a ghost story one called nosleep too, which is quite good but I had to leave it as I was sh*tting myself reading it alone in the house haha.

If you search for the 'best of' letsnotmeet you should find threads compiling some of the most incredible stories - there's one here but there will be older collections too. A lot of them get 'verified' as true too - like people escaping murderers and they send the sub admin copies of police records to prove they're not making it up and then the thread gets a note on to say it's verified. It's SO interesting.

Glad it’s not just me then, I’ve followed links to stories over the years but I just don’t understand it. I was reading the Let’s not meet thread but even that was difficult to find.
@dressagediva I’ll definitely look at those threads, I’ve been ill over the few days so Desperate for reading material In the middle of the night 🤣

Do you listen to the let's not meet podcast? I love it!

As for Reddit, it confuses me 😅 but I think I'll give it another go this weekend.

I find this so strange, I’ve never thought reddit was hard to use! If I want to learn about anything, take up a new hobby or even check the news I do it all on Reddit.

I can't get my head around it. What does it mean when a thread starts u/ or b/ etc.
U/ is a link to a user, r/ is a subreddit so like a board for a specific topic.
Those are the main ones!

Not listened to that podcast yet but I really want to!

I'd recommend using reddit on your laptop rather than your phone... it's much easier

Yeah the podcast sounds more like my sort of thing, some of those threads are disappointing IMO 😂

It’s alright. I mostly use it to read about and discuss my favourite video games. There’s a sub for basically everything, hobbies, tv shows, films etc and they are generally really informative places in my experience.

Some parts of Reddit can be toxic but I just stick to the lighthearted stuff.

Ive never read actual Reddit (I’m not great at navigating the website)

But I listen to YouTube videos to fall asleep mainly things like

“most disturbing threads on Reddit”
“Reddit confessions”

etc etc.

One of the most insane subreddits has to be r/illnessfakers. It’s about (mostly) young women who fake illness for internet attention or exaggerate to get sympathy, money or followers.

r/letsnotmeet is creepy AF but I do wonder how much is fantasy than reality!

I love Reddit. I use the app which is easy to navigate. There’s a forum (aka subreddit) for everything. Just find ones that suit your interests and stay away from all the toxic stuff. I follow lots of cats, cooking, and a few interesting ones like Justice Served, Instagram Reality, Idiots in Cars, Wedding Shaming.
