Looking for some advice.
I lost touch with my Uni besties 3 years ago, just before graduation. The three of us fell out over something silly and at the time I started a new relationship, so partly my fault as my attention was elsewhere.
Myself and one of the girls, let’s call her Jane, text and made up, promises to go for a meal soon and that was it. Not heard anything since.
The second girl, let’s call her sally, we never sorted it out and I feel there’s no love lost there if I’m honest.
Over the past year I can’t get it out of my head to reach out to Jane and patch it up. I miss her friendship and I feel I’ve lost 3 years of my uni memories too. She’s recently wished me happy birthday on Facebook and liked a few posts etc so I’m taking the hint she may be open to reuniting.
Do you think I should message her, apologise that it’s been so long and see if she’d like to reconnect? Or do I just move on?

I would say message her, life is way too short. Obviously I don't know her but if she's been liking pictures and even said Happy Birthday, I would say its a good sign!:)

Message her. If she doesn’t want to be in touch you’ll soon know and then you can switch off and move on. If she does want to be in touch then you’ve rekindled the friendship.

What are you waiting for? Message her - don’t be overly apologetic, just focus on meeting up in the future and having a good catch-up. This is the perfect time to reconnect with old friends and I can’t see her rejecting you based on her commenting/liking your posts.

I stopped talking to a friend for a couple of years and posted on her Instagram. She then messaged me saying she was so scared to message but was desperate to get in touch.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that. Good luck!

Thank you all, I think I just needed the confidence boost of people saying do it!

I understand that because I was the same when I reached out to a friend I hadn't spoke to in a long time. But it was definitely worth doing so I hope it goes well for you xx

100% message her. If she isn't keen on reconnecting with you, then you can move forward. She will most likely want to reconnect and is probably thinking about sending you a message you as well. Hope all goes well :)

Agree with the others, do message her and get in touch. The worst she can say is she doesn't want your friendship, but you won't know until you try. Good Luck!

Similar thing happened to me a few years ago, she had been my best friend for about 5 years and then we had such a trivial argument and we stopped speaking/messaging, we were both too stubborn to patch it up at the time.

Just under a year ago she had started liking my photos on Instagram, I sent her a DM to see if she wanted to meet for a coffee to catch up and she said it would be lovely.

I gave her my number incase she deleted it so we could arrange something, she still had my number so was obviously waiting for me to make the first move 🤷🏻‍♀️.

She sent me a message saying "hey" and I replied with the same and then we never spoke again after that but she kept liking my photos 😂

Not sure if the catch up will actually ever happen as shes moved house (about half hour drive) and life gets in the way sometimes but I was happy that I actually made the first move.

100% make the first move and message her, good luck to you! Xx
