I'm looking for some recommendations for friendly and inspiring fb groups to join? Budget travel, food, DIY, books etc.

I guess it depends on your interests. For instance I am in one that is called 'Golden Retriever Club' which I like as a golden owner myself but I am sure others don't. So I suggest you search for stuff you are interested in and see where it leads you.
