Recommendation for long padded coat

I've been searching online for a long padded coat - at least knee length or longer. I'm not looking for a highstreet brand but would like to spend some money on a good quality coat.
Most places I've looked are sold out in the longer coats.
So can you recommend a brand that you've tried/bought and are warm and breathable

The North Face
Berghaus
Regatta
Canada Goose

Try looking up outdoor/camping/ski/snowboard type shops for proper gear if that’s what you are after rather than high street fashion type stuff. A good quality proper padded long coat will set you back a fair amount - a few hundred quid at least.

I bought mine from mountain warehouse and it’s super warm. They usually have sales in so worth a look.

Thanks for the recommendations. I am looking to spend a good amount of money and you are right I want a proper coat. It's just hard because I didn't grow up in a cold climate so not sure which are good brands to try

Can you recommend a specific brand at all?

I got a seamless down coat from Uniqlo, warm and fully waterproof. My partner just bought a Patagonia one x

I have a North Face one and a cheaper one from the Mountain Warehouse, both are equally warm. I would make sure any cost you buy is waterproof and wind proof, I had a branded down filled coat that when it rained it came straight through the fabric

Moncler they are expensive however they last year on year and are very warm and made for cold weather.

Not Canada Goose.
If you buy that brand you are contributing towards animal cruelty. Just search online and you'll see as I doubt people would want me to say what happens to the animals.

There is talk of them stopping using animals for their jackets from 2022, but who knows if that will happen.

There are plenty of coats out there that don't use animals, but will still keep you warm.

I got a midi length Columbia padded coat and also the shorter padded bomber style. Literally cannot fault them! Such good quality and so warm but breathable. ASOS do good discounts on them at times too I got 20% mine when they had a sale on

Ach, I guess if you want to go animal free then perhaps not the best option. But I wear leather shoes, eat steak, have a feather & down duvet and a sheepskin rug on my bedroom floor so it’s not something that bothers me personally. Each to their own.

I've got a North Face gilet and that is really warm . I imagine I'd get too hot in a long coat the same ( unless I was outside a lot).

One of the dog walkers I see swears by her Jack Wolfskin and she is out all weathers.

My mum had a long Musto coat , she loved it but it was too big for me or I would've kept it. It didn't have a hood though.

Ive just bought myself a Barbour jacket that is long and padded. It was slightly expensive but omg I do not regret purchasing it. I've had it for a week now and absolutely love it. I've never had anything from this brand before. I would recommend though.

I got one from H&M and love it, like wearing a duvet. Also seen all the people with ££ wearing the Arket ones but they sell out fast.

I have a north face jacket, which I love, it’s waterproof, wind proof and it’s so so toasty
