Fellow tattlers, I am very tempted to splash out on one of these fancy LED masks that are currently doing the rounds in the beauty circuit world... the price however makes me question my life choices as some of them are more expensive than my mortgage payment! Please can anyone share their experiences if they have one and would they recommend?

Also, any hero products / brands that you have come across this year that you think are amazing? I’m always on the lookout for honest reviews, not z list influencer pushing pyramid schemes :( of everything beauty related!

Honestly, I don't even know if it counts as a beauty product or a medicine, but my HG product of the year has been Acnecide.

My skin got worse and worse throughout this year, despite me not wearing makeup and trying to take better care if it, to a point where I was breaking down in tears on the daily because I felt so ugly. I tried so many cleansers, creams and masks, none of which worked. I decided to try Acnecide as a last resort before seeing my GP, and within about 6 weeks my skin is 99% cleared up.

I still have one or two deep cystic spots on my jawline which are yet to come to a head, and some red scarring which is fading by the day, but I'm not waking up to a whole new crop of spots everyday like I was. :m

Can anyone let me know if they have bought an led face mask (Dr Dennis G, MZ skin etc) and feedback? Are they worth the money, have you noticed a difference etc?

Thanks!

100% agree with this, acnecide saved my skin! I use it in the morning after cleansing with a LaRoche Posay cleanser and then use the Avene Triacneal in the evenings and my skin is so much better. Gone are the days of following CH's 500 step skincare routine 😂
My biggest lesson has been to stop listening to influencers. What works for them won't necessarily work for me. And they swap products so much that how do they even know they are any good? Also they could just have naturally good skin. Saved so much money since realising this and my skin is so much happier with a simpler routine.

The Ordinary niacinamide for me as well as taking good care of my skin. I have very oily skin and it has helped massively.

My fake foreo from Amazon face cleaner I think has really helped my skin.
The Olay vitamin C two step face mark kit gives me an unbelievable fresh face glow that lasts a couple of days.
Botanical lab (superdrug, Amazon) turmeric clay mask also leave my skin fresh and glowy.

There’s a thread on here all about beauty devices such as the infrared masks and toning wands. I can’t remember the name but if you search some of the big brands it will probably come up

The ladies in the Sali Hughes or Caroline Hirons threads are vair knowledgeable about this kind of thing. One of them will steer you in the right direction.

Regarding the LED face masks, I have one (Aduro) and I love it, that being said I do a lot for my skin.

The Project E led beauty mask gets loads of good reviews, but it's not flexible so you can't really use it while walking around. That's why I got the Aduro. However the Project E one is far cheaper

The Current Body one gets a lot of good reviews

I have the Current Body neck bib and the Light Salon Boost face one. They are both obviously manufactured by the FaceLite people, only superficial decorations differ.

They are flexible and comfortable to wear. Although I found it hard to eat crisps with the face mask on and it's not easy to read because of the bright light close to your eyes.

I'm pretty lazy and I know i wouldn't engage with something requiring more active effort such as a NuFace.

So far I have seen clearer benefit from the bib on neck rings and chest crinkles. My face is so reactive that I find it hard to track cause and effect.

I am also tempted by an LED face mask. I started using The Ordinary’s Argireline and I read somewhere that it works brilliantly when used in conjunction with an LED mask. I swear I can see the benefit of Argireline, albeit temporarily. Probably only I can tell that my various forehead lines are a little softer, but it gives me a bit of confidence so that’s good enough for me!

The ordinary glycolic acid on the scalp. Brilliant for getting rid of dandruff and itchy scalps. Forget Sali’s pathetic olive oil tip!
