Ahhh I absolutely adore Raye. Fantastic songwriter and artist. She puts a lot of emotion into her music, is versatile and she’s not afraid to be vulnerable. Hoping others are a Raye fan! What’s your favourite Raye song?

I think she is extremely talented and cool and very very underrated!
She reminds me a bit of Amy Winehouse or Mutya Buena vibe! Her radio friendly hits are absolutely bangers (not irritating like some!) but she’s not afraid to go against the grain. She definitely needs more recognition!

I absolutely adore Raye, her music is perfection 🤌

(edit to add favourite song) there’s so many to choose from, but I have such a soft spot for ‘please don’t touch’ 🥹

Bumping this thread, if you hear the Lisa from BLACKPINK new track, and see it's "featuring" RAYE and Doja Cat, RAYE wrote this track when she was with Polydor, its one of the absolute tunes they buried. You can hear the original demo here

Welcome gorgeous! Aw how unlucky for you. Let’s hope her amazing vocal chords are on the road to recovery soon!

Interesting thank you - will need to schedule in a watch of the doc. What’s your favourite song of hers?

Favourite? Oh shit... I genuinely can't choose. I Iove Natalie Don't and Shhh. I'm actually also very fond of her dance stuff like Call on Me and Love of Your Life as they were on my playlist when I had chemo and needed to be in my happy place.

I do love a listen to the Radio 1 Dance Weekend set she did, although I know she doesnt like some of these songs and she was in a bad place personally, they are still undeniable tuuuuuunes (and also paid for her house lol).

I think My 21st Century Blues in a absolute work of art and tbh the only track I sometimes skip over is Mary Jane (for reasons...) looking forward to the orchestral version from the Royal Albert Hall on TV over Christmas.

Seriously, you need to watch the doc. She was so open and adorable in equal measure. You could tell Louis really warmed to her. I actually had chiils a few times watching it. Let me know what you think!

Absolute tunes! Love Call on Me too ☺
Sending you well wishes, glad Raye could lift your spirits.

Oh my god thank you for linking that, I listen to her mash up so often 😅 she’s just next level good. I’m watching a clip on YouTube of the documentary now and I’m tearing up - girl has been through so much, I’m so so happy for her that she’s escaped the claws of her previous record label. Cannot wait to watch her growth further unfold. The mix of jazz and rasp in her voice, go on Raaaye!

Looking forward to hearing in full that new track she debuted as part of her performance too. I don't think I've ever seen so much love in the room for a Brit winner 💕

Just found this thread, I adore her as well! I was supposed to be seeing her this week but she's been told to rest her vocals so hopefully the gigs will be rescheduled for next year.

The Louis Theroux documentary about her recently was really interesting, and I was delighted how well she came across. I had no idea her Dad was her manager these days. The part where she just started creating music in the studio was incredible, she really is such a rare talent.
