She should go over and watch Libby Trickett's latest and pinned reel on parenting in kids' sport...

I’d say you would be hard pressed to find a parent out there on Saturday or Sunday sport who ISN’T cheering on for the kids loudly. The difference is we’re not inserting ourselves into the game/run/whatever, AND we’re not filming it then posting on social media for some weird external validation from strangers. Honestly the point has completely flown over her head.

Every time an influencer cops backlash they start on the “be kind” bullshit. “Small acts of kindless” blah blah what they mean is be nice to me while I continue to not care about anyone else.
I honestly think she has completely missed the point of why people were alarmed at her behaviour. No one saying you can’t be your child’s biggest fan/advocate/cheerleader whether that’s in sport, academics, trapeze school whatever their passion or interests are - that’s your job as a parent! But the thing that is weird and not ok is the fact she RAN BEHIND THE KID during the actual school event?! Like why couldn’t you give her a little pep talk before the start, stand and watch her with pride run the course & cheer her on to the finish line. You can be your child’s biggest cheerleader without pulling a stunt like that and looking fucking unhinged!!

If you push your kids to work hard at a sport or activity to the point they are crying, exhausted and don’t want to go on for years and years and 8 years later they are going to the Olympics is that success? Miserable childhood being shouted at and “encouraged” by parents and always feeling like you are going to disappoint them. Scared to not do well.

My daughter does activities that she like and enjoys and if she wants to stop then that’s fine! I’d rather be happy. The main one I want her to do is swimming lessons and that’s because of water safety.

Wow, that short exchange between Rachael & Dom - next to the car door - was very telling.
He‘s very conscious of his mother’s overbearing presence - saying “I don’t think you can stay in the dressing room” ….Rachael says ‘that’s fine’. His anxious response to that; “how is that fine mama? It’s only for the kids”! Rachael, relents “Ok, I‘ll just drop you off”

Next, Dom tells her she’s brushing his hair too hard & aggressively. She retorts in true Rachael control-freak style; ”I’m just trying to make it perfect”. The young boy then gives his mother a valuable lesson in self-restraint & composure by saying, “I don’t need it perfect. Not everything’s perfect“! 👌

A powerful & beautiful dose of reality for this pushy, obsessive woman!!

This woman is really not well.

Is it wrong that when I read Violet placed 12th, my first reaction was ".... that's not that amazing?" All the kids I knew who aced cross country did it on sheer talent alone. There were two kids who lived in housing commission near me that ended up on sports scholarships and would outrun everyone. I don't even remember anyparents being there on cross country day! Maybe one or two with the cut up oranges?
Was it really worth the training sessions and joining in a primary school running race and filming yourself for the gram? Oh that's right, it's not about placement - well if it's not about placement, how the hell can it possibly matter enough to run screaming behind her? I feel so bad for this poor tiny girl who clearly loves her mum and isn't old enough to understand how fucked up all this is.

That’s right, we all want the best for our kids, to see them be their best & achieve their goals. But their goals are not our goals, we can’t make the kids be something they are not, forcing things onto others is so controlling & manipulative, especially if they have no desire to do what you are forcing.
When do these kids get to be kids?

People would be forgetting this is the same bitch who took her own healthy snacks to a birthday party and didn’t let her kid have any of the party food, why even let them go in the first place if you won’t let them enjoy everything about the party?
It’s not like they have allergies or intolerance, I’m talking about not letting them eat the fun stuff & taking your own dry seeds for them to eat, it’s fucked up.

The main thing that annoys me is that admits that Violet isn’t athletic or drawn to sporty things.
So she’s forcing her on long runs and early tennis lessons for her own aspirations of who this child will be in eight years time.
by doing this she’s completely disregarding her happiness now, and almost guaranteeing she will never have joy in doing these things.
why can’t she just tell violet to pick a team sport and enrol her in that?
She’d probably love the social aspect of netball or soccer and could still be active without long, painful runs with her mum yelling at her.

This! I hate that she says her daughter isn’t athletic. That’s so mean! If she’s running cross country then she is athletic.

I smile at my child’s lollipop man every day and talk to him when I’m walking and not doing car pick up. That’s normal behaviour. Her breakthrough today on how to be nice is very telling!

What I didn’t like about that is what if she’s just a normal girl in 8 years time? Will that be ok? What if she’s not a professional or exceptional athlete or gets to be a teenager and just says no. Rachael is staying by pushing her she’s going to be extraordinary but what if she’s not. Mum won’t be able to cope.

My son isn’t athletic, so I’ve accepted it’s not his path and we let him do things for fun so we don’t break any enthusiasm he does have!

I model going to the gym for fitness and mental health without being extreme but never push my kids.

This behaviour from them is disgraceful, that poor kid. And if they video that and share it publicly what happens behind closed doors?

I may be wrong here so please correct me if I am, umm, since when was Mike Miziner ever a tennis Pro? So the kids are finally on a family holiday, and you guessed it, they are in the gym receiving tennis tuition from Papa, for christ sake, when do these kids ever get to be just kids?

He isn’t a tennis Pro …but Rachael refers to him as the children’s coach, mentor, psychologist and ‘everything Papa’! She has an unhealthy obsession with him and all the discipline he doles out. Regularly froths over his ‘greatness’ and reserves all her affection for him.

It’s a good thing she could marry this oily creep everyday, cos no-one else in their right mind ever would!

Filming herself stirring collagen sachets into a beverage with that smug look of self-satisfaction while papa side-eyes her …is another weird, slappable ritual of hers.
She can’t help herself, even on hols.

Also, Rachael was really surprised by all the ‘healthy options’ in Bali - vegetables & salads oh my! In the same way she couldn’t believe they had ‘fresh juices’ when in China 🙄!!
If only this shallow, dingbat was remotely interested in the history, people, customs & culture of the places she visits, she might learn a thing or two about the ‘wellness industry’ - its ancient origins, long standing systems, traditions & practices she tries to emulate & co-opt.
