They deserve it. Our natural instinct is to keep children safe.
I applaud what they do - the police dont have t he manpower to do this - but sadly they do make mistakes 2 years ago they went to a house in the next town to me - wrong house - poor blokes life ruined - turns out it was actually his cousin they were after - the worst thing is they wouldnt apologise or make it clear they had made a mistake.
Really? Isn’t it just a way to attack someone, get social media clout without being seen as a bad person? I mean they could do something positive to prevent reoffending, but they don’t.
It's tricky; many people have urges but don't act on them. And if they try to talk about it people wave their pitchforks.
I don't know if there's any form of 'rehabilitation', it's such an alien concept to the majority of us thinking about a child in a sexual sense.
There are prevetion strategies and rehabilitation that can manage it.
Many people want to go out and batter someone, but they don’t act on their urges or by doing it by targeting weirdos, pretending to be the ideal fantasy victim and encouraging the pweirdo fantasy.
I get the feeling with some of these people that they just want to beat someone up under the guise of 'protecting kids'. And it's horrific when they get it wrong (I once read a paediatrician's house was set on fire by such a mob...)

Me neither.
The problem with the ‘hunters’ is that they seem to all be keyboard warrior types and massive clout chasers. They set up their traps and think they’re very clever but it’s a legal nightmare when it comes to actually prosecuting the scumbags. The professionals who do this horrible but sadly necessary work are highly trained for a reason.
This article is six years old but I was listening to a Kazakhstan political commentator last night and in her home country they are on the brink of surgical castration for serious offenders
I think the issue with either is that there are certain types who it won’t affect. There’s a massive crossover with dark triad personality disorders, so you have a part of the pweirdo group who will carry on because they’re able to do so, they don’t care about rules, empathy etc.
For those willing to change, it would work.
