If you really want results it’s so important to bite the bullet and pay to have them professionally whitened.

you can have in chair whitening, which is done on the day, it’s more expensive and can take a few hours.

You can also have take home whitening, which I would recommend. You get trays made and bleach to take home, it’s cheaper than in chair whitening and also you are in control of how white you want your teeth to get.

If you think you have staining, I would advise a hygiene appointment before starting your whitening journey.

As the above poster said, your teeth can get sensitive. We always advise you use sensodyne toothpaste when you whiten. You can skip a day of whitening, place sensodyne toothpaste in your trays to sleep in, and this should help with sensitivity. Personally, my lower teeth always are far more sensitive, so I normally focus on my upper arch and only bleach the lower arch occasionally (when I smile I don’t show my lower teeth anyway).

once you have the trays, you can buy tubes of whitening gel as and when you like!

I’ve heard good things about Crest White Strips, not tried them myself though.

These strips genuinely changed my life! I had really discoloured teeth in early 20s. I noticed a smoker friend had amazingly white teeth and asked her. She recommended them and I’ve never looked back. They Are way cheaper and you just top up once a year or whenever you feel like you need to. They really work. I tried so many boots products and waster so much money on things that didn’t work.

probably get it done professionally if you can afford to but crest are a great cheap option.

Hi all. I absolutely hate my teeth. They are in decent condition overall as confirmed by my dentist just before lockdown. No fillings etc. But they are really yellow from probably drinking too much coffee.

I want to treat myself to professional Teeth Whitening. Has anyone had this done?

It's a massive insecurity of mine. I've tried all the at home stuff.

Does teeth whitening still work if you’re teeth are a bit crooked? My top ones are fine but bottom not so much (own fault didn’t carry on wearing retainers when I was young)

I paid £200 to get gum shields fitted and then I did them at home, for 4 syringes(brand was MyDentist, have tried opalescence recently which is good but not as great).
I did it 2 hours a day for a fortnight, after I first had it done I thought it was shit but the more I did it the better it got.
I do it for 2 weeks every 6-8 months because I drink tons of black coffee and red wine and now they are literally sparkling white I get tons of compliments.

I honestly couldn’t recommend enough, one syringe lasts about 6 months and costs £30.
They're sensitive whilst you do it but they’re fine when you stop, Opalescence is the best toothpaste I’ve ever used to maintain the whitening, costs £8-10 on ebay

ive used those, they are good can make your teeth slightly sensitive but not too bad, good for mild staining x

I’ve completely forgotten now. i think it was a few hundred pounds but nowhere near a thousand when I did it through my dentist. The most expensive part is where they take the impressions of your teeth and then make the trays. After that I think the top up of gel is only about £20

I’ve had this done twice about 10 years apart as the results don’t last forever though mine lasted years but I don’t drink tea or coffee. Worth every penny. The best results I had were with Wyman Chan of the smile studio in London who I highly recommend if you are able to get to London. My second treatment I had done through my dentist. I got the results but my god was it painful and my teeth became so sensitive they could feel everything so I stopped sooner that I’d like. I’d always recommend going through a proper dentist, please don’t buy any gimmicky products that you might see advertised. Definitely worth it though and I will get mine done again when they need it

Thank you but they was a fraction of that price.

Apparently an ingredient was banned in the strips. They now have to import them so it sends up the price. I used to get mine of ebay, 10 packs for about £9.

I had mine whitennd before starting high school. My teeth were naturally quite yellow and kids at school used to make comments about it . My mum paid for it and I got it done at the dentist , it was a one off treatment that took a few hours. They've lasted quite well ,although they probably aren't as white as they were

move used this site for a few years asdo my friends. I’ve had trays made and had zoom whitening, I preferred the strips.
There is something called ‘tooth mousse’ you can get from amazon that helps with any sensitivity
