Prognosis Negative

@Choco88, I have had assessments for ADHD & Dyspraxia with a private Educational Psychologist and a Psychiatrist. Both of these I paid for on booking the appointments, (still do for psychiatry appointments) so I believe it is normal practice. I think this is partly due to the significant work that goes into writing up assessment reports and doctor’s letters etc.

I think if it’s an extensive report that’s not unusual. OTs have a national qualification - just check that they are registered under that

I’m looking to pay a private therapist to assess my son as we aren’t getting any help through the NHS.

The therapist is asking for the fee up front, she will see my son at school next month to complete the assessment and send me a report.

Is it usual to pay up front?
