Hello!

I'm a second year PhD student, studying part time as well as working full time.

Would love to create a space where others are also studying in order to support each other!

I'd be slightly embarrassed to say, it's a bit specialist!

Do you work full time in your field? I cannot balance finances anymore so am transitioning back to f/t.

Have you always had an academic mindset? I'm fairly bright but not as structural as some people :)

Stubborn counts for a lot!!! Do you find it easy to structure study around work?

I remember a famous author saying he sat down to write each day at set times, even if it was dross. He still had that routine. I can be quite random (hence username) and would find it difficult to do that, being an insomniac doesn't help.

Have you always had an analytical mind? Are you with Cambridge? I remember they had a good education course.

Yes, I'm quote disciplined. Try not to take any school work home if I can avoid it, and Sundays are my PhD day. Works well for me at the moment. I definitely do respond better to structure and planning. I do definitely buy into the "write anything, even if it's rubbish" school of thought. Getting started is definitely the hardest bit for me!

No, Exeter. Did my MA with them too.

How are you structuring your time?

Structuring šŸ˜³

I'm a shocker, I tend to neglect it then do things in bursts! It's good to hear you are disciplined. It's one of my flaws. It'll be worth it in the end :)

Mature student here too. Work full time and have kids so itā€™s quite full on. I donā€™t think I anticipated how much it would take over my life but it will all be worth it or so I keep telling myself.
