Possible Traction Alopecia

I’ve noticed the hair thinning on my temples and after googling it I think it’s probably traction alopecia as I have been wearing tight pony tails for the last few years.

It seems it will be at least a 3 month wait to see if my hair will grow back. I found info online that said to use “Topical Minoxidil solution or foam”. Which seems to be Regaine.

Has anybody had this before? And is Regaine a good product to try?
Or maybe you have some other advice. I am open to trying things

My hairdresser, who has alopecia, SWEARS by Plantur 39 shampoo.

I started using it to make my hair healthier last July and love it. I get the fine and brittle hair one. You do have to use it for a while to see a difference but I wouldn’t use anything else now. I usually wash my hair 2-3 times a week. I leave it on for 2 mins or so when I’m in the shower. She said for her the conditioner isn’t anything special so said I should just use a regular one from Tesco etc. So far I love it and have defo seen a difference in my hair length and general health.

My OH and brother use regaine a d have had good results. Good deals on Amazon usually. Caffeine shampoo too.
But mostly I came to say, don’t use regaine or any minoxidil if you plan to or could become pregnant. It’s dangerous as it causes birth defects x
