What do people feel about the police in the UK?

To be honest, completely ineffective. I have had cause to call the police on two occasions for fairly serious offences and both times nothing got done. To be fair, I feel for them as they are fighting crime with one arm tied behind their back in terms of what they are up against now, we’ve got teenagers out there with guns and knives and what do the coppers have to defend themselves? Tasers and Truncheons. It’s pathetic.
Crime has has gone through the roof so petty crime is just being ignored, so the view of offenders is you can get away with it or alternatively if you are a victim it isn’t worth reporting. More serious crimes aren’t punished heavily enough either as prisons are full to bursting.
I go to London regularly and I don’t feel safe. I don’t wear any valuables and actively avoid certain areas as I know they aren’t safe areas anymore.
