We have recently got an ooni. Does anyone have any tried and tested pizza dough recipes?

We are currently buying frozen from northern dough co but would love to be able to make something equally delicious myself!

Ooh, interested to know this too. We've just got one and have put in an initial order from Great Balls of Flour, but would be great to be able to easily make our own.

We have a stone for the bbq and I always use Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's magic dough recipe, you can make pizza, flatbread, breadsticks, pitta, all from one recipe. I can't find it online (its in River cottage veg). This reads similar though.

Please let us know if you rate the ooni. I've seen them on sale at Lake land and am tempted !
We’ve had the ooni about 6 weeks and honestly it’s one of our best ever purchases. We have used it at least once a weekend since and sometimes midweek too. Cooks pizza in under 1 minute!

Highly recommend the Bread Ahead sourdough pizza base. I know some people find the idea a faff or tried it during lockdown and didn’t take to it, but the flavour in the dough is great and if I can manage it anyone can! Here is a link to a YouTube video which explains the process:

Here is a photo of my first attempt:

Anyone wondering whether to buy an ooni......do it!!

We use ours all the time. Far more than the BBQ and have even had boxing day pizzas!

We have the Karu so multi fuel if you buy the gas attachment and its amazing.

Just ordered an ooni . . So looking forward to getting it.
So experiment with making my own dough or shop bought?

Shop bought dough often has too high a sugar content so can burn or is quite dense and doesn't rise.

You get a recipe book with the oven. Give their basic dough a try, that's where we started.

Now we prefer an overnight dough 😊

Can recommend Great Balls of Flour dough. We decided we'd take things one step at a time and get used to the oven before adding in another variable in the form of homemade dough.
