Photobooks

I am about to start a Photobook mission and would love your recommendations please lovely Tattlers,

I haven’t printed off any family photos since my eldest was born 13 years ago (🙀). We obviously have bloody thousands of them stored digitally.

There is no way that I can print them all (nor would I want to) so I am thinking of cherry-picking a selection and creating some nice quality photobooks-one for every year- so that they can be stored in our lounge on a shelf and be a bit more accessible for my kids and visiting family to peruse. It seems a bit nicer than just printing and putting in albums.

I have obviously had a quick google search and there are so many providers- I’m exhausted and I haven’t even begun 🤪 I am guessing that maybe one provider might be really cheap, but that the software is a pain in the ass to use? Or that another might have better quality print, but might not offer a great selection of design options?

Top tips welcome from anyone who is a photobook addict or has embarked on a similar mission!! 😄

FreePrints do photobooks and the software is dead easy to use.
I get photos printed off fairly regularly from them and it’s dirt cheap - you get so many photos free per month and then after that they are like 4p a photo or something- I had a few hundred printed off not long ago and it only cost me about £6 or something crazy!!!!
But yes, photo books are easy to do with them 👍

I went through this a few months ago.

I spent a lot of time literally drooling over the insta perfect ones on pintrest if you search "family photobooks".

I found this helpful to get started and I did start putting them in order myself :

There's also photobox. If you leave your finished book in your trolley they will usually send you a code to get it even cheaper. (but I was put off by the cost of delivery).

Inkifi can print straight from your instagram account.

In the end though I used snapfish to just print the usual 6x4's for around £5 and stuck them in a scrapbook myself as it would be cheaper.

I’ve been wanting to do this for ages but it’s having the time/money as I have to many photos so would need lots of pages. I’ve done a few photo books for family as gifts, I found photo box quite easy to navigate but it was a while since I last ordered one.

I've used Freeprints and they are really good, they are always doing offers too where you can get things like a photo cushion or canvas and just pay for the p&p. Their customer service is really good too.

So I normally get the deal on groupon which is something like £20 for a 100 page photobook excl delivery. I have one done every year since 2014. Although I’ll probably skip this year as haven’t done anything 😂
The software is straight forward enough but can sometimes be a bit finnicky depending on how you like to arrange things. But once you get the hang of things it goes quick.
Tbh I love photos (even other peoples!) so for me the photobooks are great because a couple of times a year I’ll have a look through.

I've just been made an amazing photobook for my recent 30th birthday! My OH used the website mixbook.com
