What are your current challenges? Do you count down to every single holiday (like me, 8 more days to go!)?

I work in a year 3 class every morning... We've not got a great cohort so it's very challenging , and that's without the children who need additional support

My husband is a HoD in a secondary school and has been doing a countdown since he went back in January
His school seems to have got really lax on behaviour, punctuality and uniform standards for some reason and he’s struggling to get the support to keep it in check.
Seems to be higher numbers of kids with literacy issues still in year 9-10 and ADHD/autism and few if any TAs. Absolute shitshow for teachers at the moment which is partly why I left the profession tbh.

Yes I do, I work in a very senior role within a school. I definitely find myself counting down, I try so hard not to. Challenges for me are definite burn out, huge stress and pressure - budget, staff wellbeing, complexity of need. I try hard to stick to exercise for my own mental health but it always drops off towards the end of a term as if I leave “early” too many times for gym then I am drowning workload wise.
I am looking to leave education over the next 5 years, I have been in it 14 years now in roles from teaching assistant to my role now. Ready for a change but going to take it slowly.
