What’s the dispute?

A few years ago my PayPal got hacked. They used my account to buy £400 worth of stuff. I had to open a case saying this was fraud and they cancelled the payments and refunded me pretty quickly.

I couldn’t phone up I had to do it through the website. This was around 4/5 years so not sure if they had a dispute/fraud line now.

Thanks for the replies.

I sold a bag via a Facebook selling page on March 6th. Before the buyer purchased I did warn her that I wouldn't be able to post until the following week & if this wasn't OK then don't purchase. But she said it was fine & she wasn't in a hurry.

I post the item on March 12th as planned & at some point that day the buyer opens an item not recieved dispute. It's later escalated to a claim by Pay. I posted the item via Royal Mail Special Delivery which needs to be signed for on delivery & I upload the tracking to PayPal.

At this point the Buyer is ignoring my Facebook messages, claims the tracking number doesn't work (it does) & announces across the Facebook group that I've scammed her. I'm inundated with hate messages from ladies in this group & deleted from the selling page.

I follow the tracking closely and the item is delivered to the address provided by the buyer on Thursday 18th March, it takes a while as I am posting from England & the buyer is in Northern Ireland.

I pass the proof of postage & proof of delivery to the address the buyer has provided on her PayPal account to the resolution team and her claim is denied & case closed in my favour. The funds which have been on held are released & I think that's the end.

Until Tuesday this week where she opens an unauthorised transaction claim. It's clear that she's now fraudently trying to recoup the costs this way as her case was denied but my funds are put on hold again and I have to resubmit the evidence to PayPal. She is somehow able to change the dispute back to item not recieved despite this being previously denied by PayPal. I pass on the proof of postage and proof of delivery but she claims the item still has not been recieved. I'm not waiting for PayPal to make another decision on the case.

I know she genuinely might not have recieved the item & if she hadn't been so quick to accuse me of fraud & ignore her messages maybe I could have helped her further. But also as far as I'm aware the item says it has been delivered & currently I've lost my £200 item & my money. PayPal have assured me that I've got enough evidence to support my claim but this is so frustrating & has been going on weeks. Im
just wondering if anybody had been through something similar? Any ideas about which way the case will go? I should add she did pay goods and services.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Just wondering if anybody has had experience with the PayPal disputes process who could help me with a query?
