Passport renewal

It was about 6 weeks ago I think.
And it was a renewal

My friend sent hers off in 21st may for renewal and only got The new one last week

whilst I understand the current pandemic..

I am wondering if anyone has recently renewed their passport and how long it took to get back?

Site just says longer lead times.

a family member applied for a new passport a few weeks ago and they had it within a week (new first time application)

I'd imagine they are advising longer wait times just in case. Realistically, applications are probably fairly quiet at the minute! Lots renew before the summer and with covid there are less people travelling anyway.

I was told it could be several months but the whole process of applying and receiving the new passport was about 10 days. I was actually really impressed.

Thanks, how recent was this? For a new or renewal passport?
They received my old passport Wednesday but it’s not scanned in yet.

I sent 4 to be renewed. 3 came back within 3 weeks...the last one was 9 weeks!!!!
