Listened to I hate Halloween today which offended me because I love Halloween But I swear Rob has mentioned several times now that his dogs have escaped. He needs to get higher fences, it’s irresponsible dog ownership.

I can't bear Gino D'Acampo since that horrible story was discussed about him on the Secret Celeb Gossip thread a few years ago. And I don't like the sound of the two of them excessively ribbing Josh either so this could be the first one I don't listen to!

Ooo spill the tea!

I used to be a fan but there is something about him now that makes me feel uncomfortable

I've heard Gino say that about garlic and onion before so maybe his advice will improve Joshs lasagne
I do agree with Gino about sitting together to eat, we eat together every night and it's so good for family life. It's easy to fall into the trap of eating separately when you have little kids but eating together saves time and makes the evening run smoother. I often think that neither Rob or Josh seem to have efficient routines in place.

For those asking, sorry its from The Sun

Oh yes I knew about this.
I did listen to the podcast and noticed this part of his life was nicely not mentioned during him describing his climb to fame.
I didn’t think the episode was too bad - I think Gino is just passionate about food and would talk that way to anyone. Didn’t find it overly offensive, it was Rob in the background egging him on. Bearing in mind he always says how he was bullied at school, he can be one himself.

I can't stand Gino,i don't understand why he's so popular he has no personality at all. I listened just in case he changed my mind (it has happened before!) and I couldn't get over how aggressive he was and how opinionated and uergh no. Rob fawning all over him was cringe worthy.

Crap episode, didn't enjoy at all. In fact stopped listening before the end.

He so puts on that Italian accent as well! It is SO over the top, it sounds fake even - he has lived in England since he was 19

I've always wondered about the accent - not only has he lived here for ages, he's also married to an English woman so presumably doesn't speak Italian much in the home, even if he did with his children growing up. I work with people who speak similar languages who have been here for around the same amount of time as Gino and their accents are nowhere near as pronounced.

Does he not spend 6months of the year in Italy? I know he said he splits his time, 6months here and 6months elsewhere but I didn’t catch where that was. He has a home (possibly more than one) abroad

He mentioned his house in Sardinia. But honestly, after 6 months apiece of living in France and Germany I'm positive I was not speaking their languages with an affected Scottish twang The same applies to my French boyfriend at the time who moved here. It's completely put on and is part of the persona.

I don't like Gino but my grandparents have lived here for 60 years and their accents are still strong

My friend’s mum (who, for context, is a little kooky) really believes in the conspiracy theory that Gino is actually English, not Italian at all, and just puts it on for the telly. Obviously I don’t actually agree but sometimes playing along with the notion is hilarious.

I think the truth is probably that he amps up his accent and Italian-ness for his public persona. Similar to Sofia Vergara

I thought Gino came across like a real twat at points. He's never done the school run because... He doesn't want to?? Some days I don't really feel like doing it but that's life. And it felt very much like he'd pushed his parenting and family values onto his wife rather than them creating their own values as a team.

Aw a good natured prank would be letting him rip into Josh about the lasagne and then letting him in on the joke before carrying on the interview! (Unless I missed it?! I’m half listening on holiday)

Also just realised they’ve cut out the clunky last question about if their partner was listening what’s something that annoys them and something they’re good at. Honestly listening to them try and explain that question to the guest every Friday was torture

Rob ruined that question with his eagerness to over explain everything. And they added the bit about favourite thing they do which is shit too. Should have just kept it simple, what does your partner do that annoys you. The funnier answers are always gonna come from being annoyed.
