Eee that sounds tough. Although good if you know they are taking you back, at least that’s something I guess, but laying you off so early in the month must be tough. :(

I lasted just over 2 and a half years there and although the money was good and it gave me some great opportunities, I’m glad it’s over now because it was the worst job I’ve ever had. The abuse we got was vile and I couldn’t do it any longer. Covid made me see that, that life is too short and that I needed an out.

crazily enough ive had a job offer this afternoon😃😃.

Luckily mine was an inbound call centre, for an airline, but my god the abuse we used to get was disgusting. Most of the customers we had were well off middle class folk as I worked for the loyalty scheme and wow the way they used to speak to us was disgusting, like dirt that they had stepped in. I was called a bitch and all sorts...I would never go back even if it was the last job on earth.

Just being nosey really to see if anyone else is in the same situation.
Is anyone else out of work at the moment/did you find yourself out of work this year?
Were you made redundant, were you sacked or did you quit?
What are you doing now and are you struggling to find work?

I left my job back in September as I was being driven to the brink. I worked in a CC centre and between the customers and the management, I was driven to despair. I have been unemployed since and I have been living off my last wage. I have applied for countless jobs and so far I’ve had one interview that was unsuccessful and another I’m waiting to hear back from...

Congratulations on the job offer, OP!

I graduated in July and haven't been able to find a job since. I quit my retail job in the summer before my final year at uni because it was really affecting my mental health and I wanted to focus on my studies, but I can't help regretting it slightly now. I've applied for so many jobs and I'm lucky if I get a rejection email let alone an interview; it's so disheartening not hearing anything back!

I’ve applied for universal credit but I'm finding that so so demoralising and wondering if the pittance the DWP pay is worth the stress of it all, not that I have much choice financially.

Solidarity to anyone in the same boat, it’s really not an easy time to find work but hopefully things even out soon.

oh gosh that sounds awful. :( I have a degree too and I could never get a job in my degree subject, so I ended up going into customer service which was a big mistake...

I couldn’t get universal credit as my partner and I have too much in savings, but I did debate applying for JSA. My friend is on it at the moment and they literally just sent her a letter and paid her the money, she hasn’t had to speak anyone or apply for jobs through a system or anything which is good.
