Eee that sounds tough. Although good if you know they are taking you back, at least that’s something I guess, but laying you off so early in the month must be tough.I'm out of work. We were laid off at the start of the month but it's the usual seasonal laying-off that happens with our company (we pack hygiene and beauty products) only it's come early this year. I've been there three years and previously they always worked up to Christmas Eve or the day before. They'll likely take some of us back on for three or four weeks in January and then there's a couple of months we're normally laid off from near the start of February.
I sympathise with you as I worked for two years in a call centre but was only doing three-and-a-half hours in the evening, not full-time. That was bad enough and I wouldn't want to do work like that again. I really hope things look up for you soon.
I lasted just over 2 and a half years there and although the money was good and it gave me some great opportunities, I’m glad it’s over now because it was the worst job I’ve ever had. The abuse we got was vile and I couldn’t do it any longer. Covid made me see that, that life is too short and that I needed an out.
crazily enough ive had a job offer this afternoon
