I’ve got some thoughts on MFM and it will be unpopular opinion but I’ll share anyway.
I’ll preface by saying yes, yes I know it’s a snark site and my god do I need to snark about Judea and also she’s the man Brodie Kane but first things first.
I completely empathise with MFM and her breakdown. While I didn’t share to my socials (because it’s not my job, I have always just had a regular job) I also suffered from a catastrophic breakdown in 2017 when my kids were roughly the same age as hers. It was the most painful time of my life - and probably that of my families as well.
I also struggled with personal hygiene. Did I forget to shower and brush my teeth? No, but it was the equivalent of asking me to run a marathon every day. I had to cos I was working, but it was hard. Did I shower and brush my fangs when I wasn’t working? No. I don’t think she forgets. I think she finds it hard. Did I find time to eat shit food and drink coffee? Yes. Did I care? No. It was almost obsessive. I became the fattest I have ever been in my life. But it gave me something to reward myself with for just exisiting..something to focus on that I could control. Did I look for head pats for sharing my story? Hell yes. Also a reward for existing that day.
Did I need inpatient care? Potentially but getting that is about as easy to access as a lobotomy. It’s not like tv, when your family and friends stage an intention and off you trot. There is next to no help even if you’re a risk of offing yourself.
So what I’m saying is that she’s (probably) not lazy, she’s sick. And she’s stuck. And getting that validation online gives her that wee dopamine hit. And even if you’ve suffered depression, not everyone’s journey and experience is the same.
i feel a bit sorry for her, been there, done that, bought the tee shirt and come out the other side. Only a few speed wobbles in the interim but mainly sane. Ish.

Katie Hawkey's entitled rant about taking a baby and 6 year old to pick strawberries and she got given chocolate covered strawberries but it wasn't what she wanted?
She could have politely asked for some ice cream instead of shaming a small business (also, most people would phone and ask in advance about picking or checked their social media, as it's not a guarantee there are strawberries). I wish the biggest problem in my life is that I drove 35 minutes to pick strawberries with my kid.

I don't think you can call what Em does working. A friend of mine had to leave Patreon due to her partner losing his job which was sad and she got a horrible, patronising email from Em saying she was sorry they couldn't keep paying and blocked her from the group. So much kindness. She felt really awful and humiliated, but realised she'd paid 5 or 6 months for nothing but to prop up Em's lifestyle.

I did 2 big trips in my early/mid 20s and lived overseas for a few years, now I’m back home and having a baby in early 30s. Agreed. So confused by this. I was 18 when I had my first solo travelling experience? And 21 when I had my next one? Is she trying to brag? Now I’m mid 30s and travelled with my 3 children under 5 to America last year… where’s the flex?

There are so many wonderful gay couples with kids out there who actually seem to enjoy parenting and who raise their kids well without spoiling them and/or yeeting them into a pool and insisting they can swim, yet Christian got the spotlight

Maria tries to justify it because some of the books are shorter....you could read 600 short books in a year and I'd still be disgusted why? Because she acts like she hates her kids, she acts like everything about them is an inconvenience and she shelters them to the point that they never experience anything because she's a selfish lazy fuck. A lot of parents have severe mental health issues myself included but I don't take my shit out on them infact it pushes me to do better. If she was reading 600 short books but taking her kids out to do stuff or even just treating them like decent human beings then I wouldn't give a fuck but here we are. Her mental health isn't something her kids should have to recover from and I absolutely have sympathy considering I live with a number of mental illnesses but I don't make my kids pay for it. I grew up with a dad who should have sorted his shit out and honestly if he had of tried I would have less resentment but he didnt. He ruined his kids instead and we are now dealing with his crap as adults.

Apologies for the rant but she pisses me off because it's possible to have a mental illness and parent and not completely fuck your kids up. She needs to do better.
