Noise cancelling headphones

For anyone who has them, what brand an model do you have an are they worth the money you paid for them?

I'd love a pair that can cancel out as much noise as possible, everything online tells me either Bose or Sony are the two best, but for the price I wonder if they are really worth that, of if there are other brands that are just as good

While I'd buy either Bose or Sony, am curious to know what else there is, I had to send back a pair from Amazon due to how useless the noise cancelling was on them, so looking for recommendations now

I also have android so they need to work with that

I have the Sony WH-1000XM5 and it's great at cancelling noise including the siren of an oncoming ambulance that almost knocked me down at a traffic light one time. It silences all the annoying bleeps on the bus too. The only problem is the Soundconnect app required pairs with my iPhone but not my MacBook, so that shouldn't be a problem for you if you're on android. They've lasted me 5 years, but I think there are newer models so mine's probably outdated on the market.

I eventually got the Airpods Pro 3 (because of the pairing issue & portability) and very surprisingly find them just as good/better at cancelling noise.

Thanks, I had looked at the Sony ones so it's good to know they cancel out quite a lot of noise, I was disappointed that the ones I sent back were as useless as they were cause they come in a few nice colours where as the sony I don't think have many

I don't really trust myself with pods, between worrying they will fall out or accidently losing them, am much better at something bulky

I also have these (the Sony), use them for airplanes and always get so shocked at how NOISY it is on an airplane when I've taken them off to go to the toilet. I sometimes just wear them turned on but no music or anything and they do a great job even then.

Sadly can't use in ear headphones :(

I have those Sony headphones too and really rate them. I don’t like in-ear headphones and prefer these. The noise cancelling is really good on them especially if travelling on a plane. I’ve had mine for several years now (they were a gift) and still use them daily.

I bought those Sony headphones in the Prime Day sale and though the noise-cancelling was great, I returned them for the simple reason that they don't fold and didn't fit into any of my bags! Am waiting now for the XM6s to be reduced, apparently Amazon are having an event in early October. These ones do fold and I wish I'd checked that before I bought the XM5s.

Anyone tried the Bose Quiet Comfort headphones? They're a fair bit cheaper than the Sony XM6s but is the quality and noise cancelling as good?

I was leaning more towards those when I was going between Bose an Sony, from reviews it seems they are just as good but I don't know how many reviews are real or not

I am curious if anyone has any problems though with the sony an them disconnecting from Bluetooth, it seems to be a problem that gets brought up with them, it's how I was leaning more to Bose as they seem to have better ratings towards staying connected
