New router issues

Posting here as I’ve spent all day googling and messing about with settings and I still can’t get it working. Sorry it’s a bit of a boring one.

I bought a T-Link W9970 modem router recently. The idea was that I was going to put it in bridge mode so it functions as just a modem rather than a router, I couldn’t find a standalone modem that wasn’t stupidly expensive so felt this was my only choice. I have a better router that I can hook it up to for Wi-Fi. I checked that this would work with my internet provider and everything and it should, except it doesn’t.

The power and dsl lights are on but the internet light isn’t. I can’t find a straight answer on the internet and everything I have tried hasn’t worked. I can connect to the Wi-Fi but can’t actually use the internet. I’ve factory reset multiple times, left it off for a period of time before switching it back on. Fidddled with about every setting on the admin panel and the app. I don’t know if I’m just missing an obvious trick here but it’s driving me crazy, and my kids keep moaning about not being able to play roblox because I refuse to give up

I think it’s unlikely it’s a line issue because my internet was working fine with my Router which was hooked up to my plusnet hub one (doesn’t have bridge/modem only mode hence the need for modem), I really don’t think my isp customer service can really help me with this despite what a lot of comments online say, it seems they just take you through all the steps and then shrug when those things don’t work. I don’t think an engineer needs to come out either because as I said we had zero issues before today.

Guess I’m just hoping that someone here knows their stuff and can advise? I’m usually ok at this stuff but I’m stumped. That little internet light just won’t come on, and there’s nothing online that seems to be helpful and actually provides a fix either unless I’ve missed it.
